Embarrassed to be an attorney (Gloria Allred)

I have heard all of the jokes about attorneys and have never felt embarrassed or bad about being an attorney, until now.

I have never been a fan of Gloria Allred, but I think she has sunk to an all time low. I read today that she represents a woman who claims to have been abused by Roman Polanski in Paris, 28 years ago.

Why the fuck would Allred (a California attorney) be representing a woman who claims abuse in Paris, 28 years ago, unless she is planning to shake someone down. I mean it's pathetic. :thumbdown

I think the difference is Geragos was at least a trial attorney.

Allred is a whore that simply signs up some shitty client looking to make a quick buck and then calls a press conference hoping the other side pays her client to shut up. What she does is not the practice of law. In all my years of being an attorney it has never crossed my mind to call a press conference and air my client's dirty laundry, of course I am not a worthless bitch like Allred.

Melrose Place controversy

In 1996, Tylo was cast in Melrose Place and opted to leave The Bold and the Beautiful to take the role. However, she was fired by Melrose Place producer Aaron Spelling prior to filming any episodes for the series, when she announced she was pregnant.
The character she was to play, Taylor McBride, was recast with Lisa Rinna taking the role. Tylo quickly returned to The Bold and the Beautiful. Tylo sued Spelling on grounds of discrimination for being pregnant and won $4.8 million from a Los Angeles jury.
Prior to trial, during the discovery phase of the litigation, Spelling's lawyers were partially successful in an interlocutory appeal that forced Tylo to answer questions in her deposition about her pregnancy (and her husband's ability to get her pregnant).[1]

I think it was interesting what someone said a few weeks ago about her in the Tiger Wood cases.

How is it that what Allred is doing any different then the guy trying to shake down Letterman. I mean she calls a press conference and gives some details about her client story, and then accepts money from the person to keep her mouth shut. It sure seems like blackmail to me.

Penny have you met Gloria Allred? I have. She is a glorified ambulance chaser. This so-called actress is trying to make some money.

There are so many holes in the allegations that it has no credit:

1. The alleged incident happened in France or any other country where she was of legal age of consent.

2. The alleger made no report to the police in France but rather flew in to LA to make a press conference with Gloria.

3. Timing: She chose to remain quiet for 30 odd years and only after Polanski got embroiled in the legal tug-of-war is she declaring the assault.

We all can detect a gold digger. The man is always a rapist until proven otherwise :|

OP, you must not work in family law. I've run across enough human garbage walking around in $2k suits down in the Fresno Court house to make me permanently jaded against lawyers. The judges down there aren't much better and reward sleazy behavior.

I have met some very decent people who were lawyers, but none in that field down in Fresno. It seems to attract the absolute bottom of the barrel in your profession, though this woman sounds like she might be even lower than them, though she isn't fucking up kids and parents lives like the scum I've run across do.
 
Allred has an addiction to fame. She'll chooses her clients to maximize her exposure to media.
She labels her style as a Discrimination Attorney. Heh Discrimination against those out of the lime light. :laughing

Very dangerous to be caught between her and a TV camera.
