Wanted to do this but unbelievably busy at the moment. If the stars align next time, I would like to take you up on this. I'd be happy to do all the driving too

I'm seriously tempted to do another ride if nobody else is going. I don't see any reason I can't head down and make it up for our Dark Ride on Saturday night...
 
If you are going 1 back, rather than 3:thumbup, the San Marcos Pass around Lake Cachuma near Santa Barbara is a real nice side loop..theres some Chumash Indian caves..nice place to cool off of that hot highway..

I'm still figuring out a return route. I'm leaving from Noel Ranch/Lincoln & 55, and heading to Santa Cruz. Any fun suggestions would be appreciated.
 
If you have something to get back to, 101 is nicer than 5, but Topanga Canyon etc. will cut you over to 1, which always worked for me.

Seriously, I would love to take advantage of one of these opportunities at some point.
The recent Crazy Genius trip sold me. I hope whoever goes this time provides some nice pics like he did.

dude, i see 101 to ventura 33 to 166, which will bring you back to 101 near Santa Maria, tri tip mecca. I'd beef/beer there bigtime, find your crash spot first, and coast it all the way to scruz on day two. probably around 500 miles total. lil' slab, lil' twisties, mostly coast. nice & easy .:ride
