Engine Swap

So I've been offered a replacement engine for my 2004 GS500F for $300 from a 98 GS500. I don't know the condition of said engine, how many miles, etc.

What is a reasonable estimation for a full engine swap in terms of labor? Assume $75/hr. 4 hrs? 8hrs? 10 hrs?

If it isn't your only source of transport, it might be fun over a day or two to swap it out. I might have space, tools, lift, etc., available for quantities of quality microbrews (and I'm in the right mood when you ask ) I know ZERO about engine tuning, so troubleshooting a POS engine with no known history is sketchy.

Well, that, and I'm obligated to do a GoPro time lapse of the whole thing

dude do it your self. buy a book and get to work. take off everything and put it back the same way it came off. it will save you alot of money and you will learn a few things in the process

Swapping the motor is pretty easy. Just tag/ take pics of any wires/hoses and take your time. It can be FUN!!!
