F150 lightning
Hummer something

Chevy Silverado

All these trucks need to be 60k and under, when will that take place 2030/2040?

How much were DVD players when they first came out?

Early adopters always pay the most. They’ll sprinkle some silly gimmicks on (like Hummer’s crab walk feature) that everyone oohs and aahs over, but realistically only 1% use to add value to the bloated price tags. And after 2-3 years, they have the model that has almost all the features for half the price.

TL;DR? 2023 models over $100k. 2025 models $60-70k.

You know I am excited about this. :)

The real question will be if these companies will plan enough capacity to satisfy demand.

For example, the Mustang MachE is unfortunately built in Mexico and the production rate, so dealers have been playing games and adding a huge mark up to the cars. The F150 Lightning is the same way.

I thought dealers were supposed to protect buyers from the big bad auto makers.

I'm not sure if you folks noticed, but GM has been talking about how they are the leader for EVs, but they only sold 26 EVs in Q4 2021. 1 was the EV Hummer. ;)

I have high hopes for Lordstown. I really want one of their trucks, especially since they are aiming at the work truck/fleet sales market and not the Range Rover crowd like the Rivian.

My boss just bought a MachE Premium from Walnut Creek Ford with AWD and extended range battery for $56k.

the new chevy silverado ev with 400 range and complete frame designed from the ground up for ev platforms seems at least on paper 1 step ahead of the f150 lightning.

They do spout 40kish for fleet vehicles, exciting times we live in

$105k...

A fully-loaded Silverado EV RST First Edition will follow in the fall of 2023 and feature a dual-motor all-wheel drive system producing 664 hp (495 kW / 673 PS) and 780+ lb-ft (1,056+ Nm) of torque.

That’s pretty impressive and Chevrolet noted the model will have a Wide Open Watts mode, which enables the truck to rocket from 0-60 mph (0-96 km/h) in less than 4.5 seconds. The eye-popping numbers don’t end there as the RST First Edition will have 400 miles (644 km) of range and a Hummer-esque sticker price of $105,000.

The return of the Chevy Avalanche?

The 2024 Silverado EV....

My buddies and i think that a real hybrid truck, such as a RAM 1500, with a 3 cyl diesel and a big battery getting 45 mpg ish would be a seriously hard to beat truck. My truck gets 15mpg under the best circumstances and I wouldnt hesitate to buy such a thing.

They could even make it like a train, with electric drive motors and the diesel only charges battery. Make it charge your house batteries, etc...

Edit - yea, i know. They want to get ride of the ICE thing altogether. The world just isnt ready yet.

Saw one in oncoming lane over Christmas, definitely knew what it was. Front end didn’t inspire me to check out the ass end.
