Face Shield Fogging

I've been leaving my visor cracked so far this season. helps my breath feel minty fresh. never heard of cat crap, but I know sheep dip when I see it...

+1 for Pinlock system. Haven't had any fogging issues yet during the cold months and I often ride early morning and evening. I also wear glasses under my helmet, if they start to fog I usually just need to open the mouth vent to get a little air flowing around inside the helmet. Beats opening the visor.

Fog City is great! I just have a problem with my glasses fogging up though.

:laughing

I've learned to wipe the anti-fog stuff on BOTH sides of my sunglasses

This is the best solution. Nothing beats the Fog City liners. I've used these for about 15 years on all my helmet visors, and I've never had any of them fog in any weather conditions. The wipes and the anti-fog solutions fail after a week or two and need to be reapplied, but with the Fog City unit you only have to install it once, and that's it.
And don't waste your money on the pin-lock system, these will go on any visor, as long as you make sure to buy the correct one for your helmet.

+100

I've been using them about as long, too, and went without on this current helmet..until the first rain & I was miserable. Immediately called up We All Ride & had them order one for me.

The price is nothing compared to unobstructed vision.

The only time I get any fogging at all (even then only around the edges) is when its at or below freezing.

Pinlock. Removable, adjustable, replaceable if scratched. And works like a charm.

I ride all year long in any weather and would not go out without it on cold/rainy days/nights.

I just open the visor a bit along with the front vent deflector. Works great and it's free :party

The never ending corundum. I have used both the fog city and the pin lock setup as well as different wipes and solutions, all work to a degree but nothing perfect. The fog city is sometimes a PITA to install and is easily scratched rendering it useless. The pin lock works the best but requires a pin prepped visor-read costly. Potions and lotions work sometimes but are far from reliable. I find that keeping the visor as clean as possible works the best as you just have to crack the visor a little bit to keep it defogged you will, however open it up full when going slow or coming to a stop.

+1 for Pinlock, though I haven't had any experience with anything else.

Came included with my helmet so I can't speak for its value, but I do notice the Pinlock area staying clear while everything around it starts fogging up.

I generally only fog up in very cold temps, but I crack my visor. Normally, I only have to do this at low speeds or stoplights (still cold though), but at highway speeds I am fine.

Basically, I am cheap - but I am more lazy than cheap. Don't feel like dealing with visor thingys.

No matter what the temp, I always leave my helmet vents open; I can only "feel" a difference at 32 or below anyway! :)

I know it's not a cheap solution, but my Scorpion exo-1000 helmet would NOT, ever, NEVAR fog up, no matter how hard I tried! :cool And I tried! :laughing

Not sure if all Scorpions yield the same results; I was very impressed! :thumbup

See above post (#34) Scorpion makes an excellent visor with some additive from the factory that has NEVER fogged up on me. I have the exo-400, just for fun I kept my original faceshield purchased in 2007, first time it ever fogged up on me was in 2010 about a month shy of 3 years. I have had a couple of new face shields just because of blemishes and road hazards, but I just wanted to see how long the original would last, they have a repeat customer here for life.

write me up as another satisfied scorpion wearer. however with daily riding the fog free for me failed around 6months in and i wrote scorpion, they emailed me asking for my receipt then once they had that asked me to send it back to them and they sent me a new one. they did the same thing with a helmet that had sunfaded after a year of daily roundtrip one hour commutes. i was just emailing to let them know it happened and they replaced my lid. wasnt expecting that at all, customer service is topnotch there. now if they would only release the rs2000 so i can sport that one for the next 3 years.

Been using Fog City about the same length of time. My new sheild doesn't have it installed yet and I kick myself every morning for being so lazy. Outstanding product and works as advertised.

+1 on Scorpion. My pick is the 700. I tried more expensive helmets when I had to replace my first, but stuck with the scorpion because of the fogging issue.

I've been using Zooke for a long time and have not had any fogging problems. Even down to the high 20's, still fog free. A 6oz bottle has lasted me over 5 years. Just one squirt is all it takes.
