Fastest you've gone on a motorcycle (and fastest corner you've taken)

?You stopped and took a picture at 210? I guess it would 've been Area 51 if you did that.
He was going so damn fast that he circled back and took a picture of Mille's bike. Now that's fast.

What's wrong with the BMW? The gearing is set to do an indicated 186, which is really about 178 on the bike, when it has almost 200hp. Needs 17/38s, I tell ya' what. Funny to watch two bikes that I own do that, since I have done the same on both of them at the same time. So there, wheelie guys! :party

Wish you would have waited a bit. We were getting to dealing with the guy. Oh ye of little faith.... Unfortunately, you've earned yourself a time-out per TOS 4.1. We'll see you soon.

Please, folks, this was obviously meant to be a fun thread. I think we all know the legal and safety issues associated with speeding on the street. There are laws set up to mitigate risks and I don't think anyone here means to dismiss the spirit of those rules, even though they might break the letter of the law. Let's try not to take ourselves too seriously, eh? We're all on the same side as long as we're on two wheels.

Well since the TOS has obviously been completely disregarded as of late, I suppose it is perfectly fine to tell both of you to go eat a dick. Right?

Jeez, why the personal attacks? I asked a simple question. Yes, it was based on somebody's comment that he has taken corners on the street (in the bay area) at 160 mph? I honestly felt that was completely ridiculous so I figured I would pose the question to the masses. Somehow, the trolls have decided to single me out, call me names, and talk shit about me because I asked a simple question. And again, since the TOS seemed to have been relaxed to the point where this is perfectly acceptable, I bid you a kind "Go fuck yourself".

I haven't read through this thread but I know that the old BIR circuit in northern Minnesota would take the cake for me. Even in an intermediate track day group I would be going at least 160 on the straight and 145 through turn one. And I'm a slow guy.

The real fast guys ride through turn one pinned in sixth on 600's. Open class bikes have entry speeds of 175mph. It's kind of nuts. I don't think there's anything like it unless you've been to the old Monza circuit or Mistral Straight at Paul Ricard.

It's been a few years and I don't know if I'll ever get back.

I'm slow, 142 of the SMB. It was clear for a mile or so.

corner? define corner? I have no idea what my fastest corner speed is. But it would hafta be turn 8 at Thill or turn 1.

Whoa, things went sideways in here.

I'd also note that hitting triple digits on public roads obviously isn't a smart idea, but it has it's moments. Most of those moments are in the past for a lot of us, those who want to make it home to someone or just survive in general.

For me, I've had a relatively tame top speed. It's also not a speed I get anywhere near 99.9% of the time I ride. Unlike the stunnah type folks, who seem to be at it all the time and attracted to where there is a crowd. I like a good wheelie, but sometimes it's a bit much with the group ride/hooligan shit, at least for me.

Seems BARF is in a downward spiral as of late, quite unfortunate.

I once had a bike that went REALY FAST, then I sold it for a bike that couldn't go fast.
Now I own a bike that might be fast...I think. :p
DT

T hill, turns 1 and 8, are definitely fast. I couldn't say I've cornered faster. Ive seen 155 indicated out in Nevada. The bike gets 13mpg at those speeds!

I watched a guy on his street 'busa clock 213mph at a dry lake speed event. 213mph in the dirt! The car we brought lost 12mph in wheel spin at a lowly 118mph! (130mph wheel speed based on tach) i can't imagine what that guys actual wheel speed was!

Whoa, things went sideways in here.

Meh. There has been a poster or two that get carried away with their number of posts and argumentative nature. And some disagreements between one segment of the biker community and another segment.

This isn't the Jets vs. Sharks, Bernardo didn't kill Riff, Tony didn't stab Bernardo, and Tony doesn't get shot. Maria is still waiting for you on the balcony, and you can get a ice-cream float from Doc.

Meanwhile, those guys in that video are dickwads to me. Passing cars at that speed is not nice. I wouldn't do it. Btw, after doing my 140 or so with the g.f., I felt terribly guilty, and never went over 90 with a passenger, again. We never passed a car doing that run in the desert.

And all it took was a '160 mph inquiry' ninja edit from me :party for the boys to start admitting en masse to reckless driving on public roads.

That or admitting to speeds that really aren't that fast (@ the track) ..
I loved the "My bike probably can go 120 mph max .. maybe' one... Yet, this user was full of technique commentary on body positioning (namely @speed and what it takes to maintain cornering).

This was a most excellent thread. It provided me with all the perspective I needed w.r.t certain user's commentary which suggested that they are unable to relate to certain 'experiences'.

Thought I'd let it run a bit before adding this..

Objective achieved :). That deep troll :Popcorn

Give it a rest. You f-ed up and are now doing damage control in an attempt to repair your (massive) ego.

Not going to bother to report the post in which he admitted to trolling. Carry on, unirr :rolleyes

What a deluded little person. :laughing
Do you honestly think no one ever talked about speed before you showed up?
How fragile is your ego that it must be stoked that often?

Its this a direct admission of a TOS violation?

You're so awesome! Maybe you could share your greatness in a place where people didn't mistake it for dickishness?

Don't think it is ... I never admitting to trolling.
'That deep troll' .. 'that blue car'.. Never said it was my intent or car ...
Slow out the gate... Last in finish :twofinger

That same greatness can be found in you ... You just have to focus on it more and less on trying to disprove what other people are doing.

Instead of focusing on telling others what is and isn't possible...say 'it's possible.. you just have to try and try yourself'. Less focus on others and more on yourself.

Greatness shouldn't be offensive if you understand the straight forward process of getting there. The key is beliebing in yourself.

Damage control? I think admitting to reckless driving is just about the only thing that needs damage control :rofl.

Maybe someone f'ed up by so fervently pursuing this thread ....
If anything, I'm getting a kick out of each and every post (especially those from my fan club) :laughing
I really can't get over Mr.Track/Body position expert's comment : 'I don't think my bike is even capable of going above 120mph'
