Favorite Corners

It's impossible to get more than about 1-2 minutes of clear road, even then..... :(
Would you believe, yesterday on Skaggs, coming from Stewart's Point, 1 car..
The entire way going East.
And not until the end and turning left to go to the lookout.

Paradise.

All the replies are very interesting. I was going for just specific corners. For me, a favorite corner is a mixture of things: unpredictable, rewarding, exciting. For me, those attributes embody motorcycling. You need to read the road ahead to understand its limitations and the corner needs complexity to get it 'right'. Combined, that provides a level of excitement that others corners don't give. Don't get me wrong, there are lots of exciting roads with all the corners but I have a few corners I always look forward to.

The snek on Mulholland is kinda famous for weeding out dumb.
Just NW of the Rock Store. Made a point of tagging this location last I was down there.

The sign I posted, and there may be enough clues to figure out where it is, a marvelous stretch of twists probably less than a mile long, with steep banking transitions that give a true roller coaster ride feel. It's a tough set of curves to go fast on, especially on the down side.

i'll always remember the time i was at the rock store when a pagani went by. i was riding my ninja 250. i also have a pic from the rock store with me on my sv650 :ride

Okay, despite my reticence to pick a favorite child, I'll play. A couple of conditions. First, because of the way I ride, I tend to favor combinations of corners rather than individual corners because my favorite part is the transitions from corner to corner, where line selection and pace are critical for getting it right. I love that stuff. I picked this one because it's frequently on my mind.

It's this segment of Hwy 128 between Cloverdale and Yorkville. Not all of it, the part on the hill. And if you've ridden with me before you won't be surprised to learn that I favor it going east to west, meaning downhill. Oh, it's great uphill too, but I love the buzz of dealing with the complexity of multiple corners on a downhill run. It's not always easy to get a clean run without traffic, and it takes a motor with some snap to pull off an overtake between corners, but when you get a clear run it's just sublime.
