Yummy recipies!! :thumbup

Makes my Ramen and chili, I just ate and my wife thought weird, rather plain. :(

I just read this: Ramen, excellent rations during Zombie attacks!1 :wow

10. It might just be the perfect food to survive a zombie attack!
What would you eat if zombies invaded the earth? The dangerous creatures would try to eat you, but you would probably end up eating some noodles! Ramen packages are not heavy to carry (unlike canned food), they last almost forever, they don't need to be cooked, they are a great source of energy and you can find them in almost all abandoned supermarkets. I don't say they are perfect, but they could be part of an invasion healthy diet!

Here's a soup recipe for a cold day from my sister, the gourmet cook (dunno where she got it; maybe from Sunset magazine, where she's had some of her recipes published). This soup recipe is dependent on how many packages of Top Ramen you're cooking (i.e., how many people will be eating). Figure on 1 package per 2 people:

6 to 8 dried (whole) Shitake mushrooms
Bockwurst (1 to 2 sausages per Top Ramen package)
Onion, chopped (1 whole onion per 2 Top Ramen packages)
Broccoli, skinned and cut
Carrot, sliced (into small coins is okay; square is okay -- just adjust cooking time to cut size so as not to overcook 'em)
Button mushrooms, sliced
Other favorite veggies
Oriental-flavor Top Ramen

Bring to boil about 1 cup of water. Add the shitake mushrooms and simmer for about 10 to 15 minutes to plump them up. Save water, remove and cool mushrooms. When cool to the touch, chop up the shitake.

Cook bockwurst (I like Saag's -- they taste great!), either whole in the microwave (be careful about the time, as they can burn and dry up if left in too long) or chopped up in a frypan. If nuked whole, chop into bite-size pieces after cooling. Reserve the oily drippings for the soup.

Quick-stir fry the chopped onion, broccoli, carrots, and other hard veggies in hot oil in a good-sized soup pot. Remove. Add water per TR packages to be boiled. Boil water. Add package seasoning and then ramen noodles, stir, and cook until almost done. Then add all the other ingredients to thoroughly reheat, including the water from the shitake mushroom and the oily bockwurst drippings. Add sliced button mushrooms just before serving. Enjoy!

I can't believe no one has posted this one yet

* Ingredients Packs Ramen Noodles (spicy chicken is the best)
* 1 package of cheetos or generic equivalent
* 1 package of spicy cheetos or generic equivalent
* 1 Meat Log or 4 of the smaller meat sticks
* Mayonnaise and tortillas

In jail there are no pots and pans, just a hot water machine, a microwave, small bowls, and garbage bags!

Step 1: The noodles: Smash the packages of noodles into small noodle bits. Take a large garbage bag (a new one) and put the smashed noodle bits inside of it. Fill a pitcher with hot water and put it in the microwave to get it boiling. Pour the boiling water into the bag and tie the bag closed. Let the noodles cook for 10 minutes.

Step 2: The Meat: Tear or cut the meat into small pieces, place all the meat into a bowl, add about a half inch of water and dump all the soup flavoring packets into the bowl. Cook the meat for 3-4 minutes in the microwave.

Step 3: The chips: Smash the bags of chips into dust. You can adjust the ratio of cheesy chips to spicy chips to whatever you like.

Step 4: The Mix: Dump the meat and any juice that is in the bowl into the garbage bag of noodles, Dump the chip dust in as well. Tie the bag back up and mix.

Step 5: Plating” This dish feeds 5 people, it should fill everyones bowl to the top. Use a county issued cup to dish out the spread. Top with a few squirts of mayo and give each person a tortilla.

This stuff makes a good burrito filling. Jail sucks. There are a lot of variations to this recipe of course but this is SPREAD in it’s most simple form. Noodles, chips, meat, mayo.

They did leave out mustard though, odd.

beef....plain...:teeth

my sister puts eggs in hers sometimes...weirdddd

I didn't check out entire thread but I like my ramen with some fresh cilantro, Siracha sauce and veggies. :thumbup

Just finished eating my basic recipe:

Thaw a handful of uncooked large peeled frozen shrimp under hot water faucet in a bowl until slightly pink.

A slice of purple onion, chopped.

1-2 packages of Ramen, cooked for three minutes after dropping in boiling water.

Drain Ramen (no flavor packet), put on plate, then adding shrimp, onion. Add some black coarse pepper, and lots of Frank's Hot sauce for that burning feeling. :drool

I substitute or add fresh raw oysters that come in a jar in fish department at Safeway, or fresh scallops. these I add at the two minute mark in the boiling Ramen.

101 Things to do With Ramen Noodles. It's a book. Buy it.

Or google "ramen recipes."

Well, I've always loved chicken flavored ramen (and I actually prefer Maruchan ramen in the package... though i rarely find them in northern california) with a hard boiled egg, some frozen veggies, and some lightly cooked romaine lettuce (the key is to dribble a wee bit of oyster sauce)...

That or the korean shin ramyun....

Heh, that's what I was going to make for lunch over the weekend. There's a big huge package of mixed flavor of Maruchan's at B's house, hard boiled eggs, left-over-still-super-fresh spinach, and frozen veggies I was going to make it with....Pokemon seaweed, too! :shhh Yes, the Korean shin ramyun is the sheet, too! Btw, there's this magical place called "Lucky" that sells them separately or in bulk. ;) Safeway by your house just doesn't have them because they are teh suck!

Here's what I used to do.

Cook 2 or 3 packs Top Ramen.
Drain half of the water off.
Add flavor packets.
Put back on stove on low.
Add about a cup of StoveTop stuffing.
Cook just long enough for the stuffing to soak up some of the water/broth.
Enjoy.
