For those that care....the 2011 Harley's are here!!

I've been constantly DROOLING over the '11 SE-SG. Good god that thing is sexy!

Yeah...I am not usually into the "farkled out" bikes...but that green FLHXSE did make me look twice....did you see the 6speaker "Boom" system that comes on those?? You even get a 8gig Ipod with it.....heard it is a pretty loud stereo for a bike....if yer into that kinda thing...I've honestly never had a bike with a stereo on it.

Yeah I saw that! The stereo on my '10 SG is good enough for me, but hell if it came with the 6 speaker I wouldn't hate on it at all! What I do want is the bag mount, bar controlled, iPod adapter. Right now I just use the aux port and it's kind of a pain to actually change songs with the iPod itself rather than the bar controls.

I just picked up a new seat (went with a Road Glide seat, stock SG seat sucked for my passenger) and next is the SE-SG shocks, a header, air cleaner/fuel adjustment. Not sure if I'm going PCV or just a Harley remap.

It all integrates into the hand controls this year on the bikes that come from the factory with the ipod like the FLHXSE at least....might have a plug in solution this year that is easy, I'll check into it for ya. I was not at the dealer show this week, so I did not get the full update. Might be a couple weeks for the compatibility/model year crossover stuff to come out, but I'll keep my eyes peeled.

I also strongly reccommend the harley FI download....you might squeeze a few more HP out of a tuner, but it can really hurt your warranty on the digital download side of things. Plus, the harley download is 100% leagal in CA...tuners are not....but that is probably not a big deal for you:teeth

Anyone think about putting a liter sportbike engine inside a harley, or would it snap the entire bike in half before you get 8k RPMs?

People who buy Harley's dont want to listen to the sound a liter bike makes, or rev the piss out of something to get it to move.

Each engine has its place, a liter bike engine on a liter bike. A Harley motor on a Harley :)

Yeah, thats it, take the HEART out of the bike. What yall dont get...and understanably so since the sportbike customer customer is the polar opposite, me included....is that Harley customers DONT WANT big changes. Ya know one of the biggest reasons H-D's keep their re-sale?? Look at a 2000, then look at a 2010......1/2 of you couldn't tell the difference....what you think is bad is what keeps Harley an identifiable icon in the industry. Do you think the tech/research/dev team wants the bikes to still be powered by an air-cooled, rubber mounted motors? Probably not, Harley has technical geeks too.....but it is what the customer wants.

When it comes to business.....and harley has pretty much mastered this.....it does not have to make sense, it just has to make $$$$$:thumbup

What baffles you guys is the same thing that keeps them strong, crazy, huh?

Do you all still make the V-Rod? :drool That's the only Harley I could see myself purchasing. :thumbup

Yeah if you're going to start pulling parts out of a sport bike to put it on a Harley...you may as well keep the sport bike, right?

Metric cruisers, sport tourers, etc etc already exist.

So how much for a road glide?

Roadglide Custom or Roadglide Ultra?? Roadglides start around $19k, the Roadglide Ultra is around $22.5k I think....havent seen the pricetag yet!! It just got rolled on the floor.

The V-rods are still made. Just the VRSCF (Muscle) and VRSCDX (NightRod)....heard the new white denim VRSCF is stunning in person...if you like the powercruiser style.

The starting prices are very reasonable. Good to see HD keep their costs down, even though they have actually improved quality.

Just in case the one dimension audience would like to know: You can get a built HD engine that will shred your tires from a stop sign.

Check out the torque numbers on these big boys. There is someone else that builds HD engines, but I forgot their names.

New at Harley Davidson for 2011, extra long fringe available in your choice of black or white. The big news are the conchs, by making them 50 percent larger your old ladies butt looks smaller. They got the idea from guys running 300 series tyres when they noticed your average Harley babes rear only stuck out 4 inches past the sidewalls.

Just kidding I ride a Deuce, a damn fine motorcycle.

Finally, a Harley with ABS. Welcome to the party. '

Never could understand how Harley could get away with calling the latest models new and improved when all they do is change the paint and graphics.

:later:teeth
been available on VRSC (VROD) since 2008.... still quite late when you consider mocos have been putting ABS on bikes since 1985!

:cool

Thanks for the heads up Teddy...:thumbup

for everyone else:

now harley/cruisers may not be for everyone but they are pretty fun if you know each models...sure, they may not have the horsepower or handling of a sprotbile but that's not what cruisers are intended for...just enjoy riding ....

i've been riding an ST1300 that weighs 710 lbs but recently rode a farkled up VTX1300 that weighs about the same with lot less hp but having more fun even in the twisties...

Don't forget revving the bike to back up. That part never makes any sense to me whatsoever. :wtf
