So last week, I walked into my local Maaco bodyshop with this photo on hand:
I told them all I needed was for them to spray it white. No design, not bodywork repairs, NOTHING. JUST spray it white. The person at the front desk asked me details about how many panels, if they were primmered, etc. I told him they were new panels. That they would not need to mask ANYTHING as I would remove all hardware and that everything was primmered.
Within five minutes he returned with a quote of $500.00 per set (I have two sets).
I quickly did the math. I could either spend $500.00 on two trackdays OR do it myself.
So I went to my local paint store, bought a quart of single-stage white paint and went to work.
In total I paid around $150 for everything, including a new paint gun, respirator, etc.
And while it does not look as shinny as a professional could do it, it looks pretty good considering it's a race-bike
