Pretty stupid button. NASA didn't reclassify Pluto, the International Astronomical Union did. NASA has a probe flying to Pluto right now.

Of course, other dwarf planets have been found in our solar system that are even larger then Pluto, no one throws a fit over those.

Nope. In my high school when there was a rumor of a fight, 12 cop cars showed up with multiple officers in each. You never knew how many kids had guns vs just knives and chains.

For the record, I carried a knife.

"I was big enough For Uranus" would have been funnier.

No, it wouldn't have. The reason Pluto is no longer a planet is because of it's too small. But when "your mom" was a kid, it was classified as a planet. Its not as funny when you have to explain it.

The Romans named the five planets closest to the sun after their most important gods. These were the only planets that were bright enough for them to see. Later, when telscopes were used, other planets were discovered. Astronomers decided to continue naming the Planets after Roman Gods with one exception - Uranus. Uranus was named after the Greek god of the sky. According to myth, he was the father of Saturn and the grandfather of Jupiter.
