I don't know much about rugby and football, but I do know the top annual sallary for a rugby player is $500,000, and the top for a football player is $16 million. So if rugby players could do well in football, why don't they just switch over?

because being Gay is still Gay no matter how much $$ you make:rofl

I was explaining to a European friend the difference between soccer and hockey. They're quite similar games, except soccer is played on grass and hockey is played by men.

The two games are fundamentally different in couple of important ways. In Rugby you can only pass the ball backwards, in American Football you pass the ball forwards.
In Rugby you try to pass(get rid of) the ball before you get tacked and if you get tackled you have to release the ball when you hit the ground. In American Football you have to hold on to that ball at all costs.
Try coaching guys who have played American football to play Rugby and getting them to release the ball is the biggest issue. Closely followed by their inability to say Hooker without giggling like little school kids :rofl

A few Rugby kickers have made it to the NFL in the past I think

And in rugby you can't lead block. Coming from years of football then going to play rugby, I surprised when everyone got pissed that I laid someone out with a lead block... until they told me the rules :)

"How do you feel about real grass versus Astroturf"

"I dunno, I've never smoked Astroturf"
