Gear Recommendations

Thanks for the advice everyone. So just to add a little info on what I'm thinking...I was considering buying a BMW GSA1200 for the commuting. I know that there are other bike options out there, so don't need opinions on a different ride. I understand the convenience of the Aerostich, but other than commuting I wanted gear I could travel around on, hence the two piece options. Plus the giant banana factor that comes with the 'stich is not that appealing. My commuted will be about 120 miles round trip each day from Mountain House to San Mateo, so it will be a hot ride in the summer time. Again, thanks for the input everybody.:thumbup

I just bought the Revit Dominator GTX jacket for touring. Haven't tried it out yet. Considering the matching pants, but haven't decided yet.

I use the stich for commuting; also when I want to go to one place and stay there in street clothes for a while. I lock the stich to the bike using a cable lock.

Hey k9 sounds like actually a nice commute, especially with an R1200gs though, I can't think of too many more capable swiss-army type of moto actually and full disclosure I do not own a bmw, if I could afford it, given the parameters of your situation, since there are no budgetary restraints if it was myself I would also be purchasing BMW Motorrad riding gear, any and all that would fit me in all conditions just as the bike itself does. Just my two cents is all so there is that:laughing

So I pulled the trigger on the Klim Badlands jacket and pant. Just bought the bike last week too, so I'm looking forward to trying it all out and do some riding! Thanks for everyone's input on this. Also looking at boots...does anyone have any experience with the A'stars Supertouring gore tex boot ?

Since you are headed down the ADV path, give the Sidi Adventure Gore-Tex a look, it's a bit more protective than a typical road touring boot.
