Give me your knowledge of 2007 Honda S2000

Stock ‘17 BRZ makes 205hp.

My bad, I thought those were 180hp cars. Comment still stands though. A remap on most modern cars isn’t going to net much gain unless it’s on something with a power adder. Stock cars are tuned pretty good and getting much better either costs a ton, is illegal or both.

Every merge on the freeway is a full throttle merge. :cool every pass is a downshift. :cool

...and that's the end of it. More than 2-3 seconds of WOT in the Bay Area and you're driving up someone's tailpipe. Velocitus interruptus. :laughing

On our Berryessa ride yesterday, (NOBODY out there on weekdays), my buddy and I passed a car coming the other way that takes real commitment to drive.

A really nice looking on of these.

Those takes some major pedaling!

I don't get the price for the S2K either, okay so it revs high so what?

If he wants a basic sports car he should get a 996 or 986 Boxster (pre 2000 is even better). They are extremely simple vehicles, no fancy electronics and easy to work on. Just a great chassis, engine and brakes. Plus even the most mint first gen Boxster will be more than half the price of a S2K

Boy, are those first generation Boxters slow though. And no cupholders!

the early ones are kinda girly looking IMO

Plus didn't they have plastic rear windows? Ugh.

The original 2cv was 2 horsepower :laughing

Low 6's in the 0-60 and mid 14s in the 1/4 mile is plenty for a car designed for the twisties IMHO.

I tried one out before I bought my Z. It was stiff and pretty small feeling inside. Motor felt rather meh. If it wasn't for the difficult access for any kind of engine maintenance I might have bought one anyways. >I don't have a lift in my garage so that was a big turn off. As it turns out, I think I am happier with the car I ultimately chose.

Everything is actually pretty easy to get to. Plugs and coil packs from the wheel wells, pulleys/accessories and belts from the front panel behind the seats and air filter/whatever is on top from the top panel (which takes about 60 seconds to get open). Oil drain is on the bottom and fills in the trunk. No need for a lift, every component is easily accessible from one of the panels. This is for the Boxster at least, I dunno about the 911.

PM Billswim. I recall him telling me "no. Fuck no".

My advice: 2007+ Jaguar XKR. For the money, they're the best value, bar none. Quality is surprisingly good and the convertible we had was a sticker of $98K, bought her for $34K with 28K miles several years ago. Don't have her anymore, but that was one of the best we've been through in terms of value and drop dead good looks. The 420hp engine is excellent and exhaust note is one of the sexiest around. Handling and brakes are respectable, but no BRZ or S2000. But man-o-man that car feels great...for about $20-25K.

I can’t even do full throttle down an on ramp in the Volt because these days there always seems to be some dickbag in front of me trying to merge on at 25MPH :rant

Are those still NA only? I can't wrap my head around the sportiest looking Subaru not being turbo AWD.

I hope turbo Subes have gotten better with the turbo lag, because the 1st gen WRX I drove sucked. You could easily tell you only had 2 liters to play with.

Seems like every turbo 4 claims to have immediate spool-up, but it's BS. Like the GTI, the magazines always gush over that engine. The last ones I drive were 2012's, and they had noticeable lag in both manual and DSG versions. I'd much prefer an N/A V6 or I6.
