Going from liter bike to middle weight?

....thanks. ........ I tell him it's a 600 and he just looks confused, as if 100 hp weren't enough to do anything with.......
Let's say you and the bike weigh an even 600 lbs. That gives you a 6 to 1 weight to h.p. ratio. In an average type modern car that would be about 600 h.p. to equal it. (Assuming 3600 lb total auto weight, just to keep it simple). So, yeah 100 h.p. is plenty. Except on b.a.r.f. or most racer forums. :laughing

For reference. 2015 Corvett Zo6 is 3524 lb and 650 hp. So 5.4 to 1 ratio.

Daytoa 675 2008 417 lb and 123HP. So 3.4 to 1 ratio.

Didn't have to do anything..I was told the 99xl 883 was the best year for putting bigbore kits on...I use the hammer 1250 kit and got a new gasket set as well

Got a guy called rick at kustom culture cycles to install it..
Dudley Perkins refused to install it because it wasn't a Harley kit

After that the bike was all get up and go..

Did you change the gearing when you went with the big bore kit?

On the street I've been on liter bikes for quite some time, however, after doing my first two trackdays on my liter I decided I wanted something smaller to learn to advance my skills on and push my limits. At this point, still riding and now racing in the 600 range (675 triple).

On the street I've ridden a lot of other bikes besides my own. If you're staying in the sport bike class, the 750s are great because you get a little more of the oomph that you get used to on the more nimble chassis.

There are a ton of options that would be a bucket of fun outside of the sport bike realm. I'd love a SuperDuke for one option :D

Sold my literbike and bought a leftover tiger 800xc last year. I should have kept the R1 :mad

Hmmm. Well, Corvette plus 175 lb DRIVER is 3,699 thus ratio is 5.7. Daytona is 417 plus 175 lb rider is 592 with NO FUEL. That ratio is 4.8. So what the fuck is your point, again?

Well 417 is wet weight, so I assuming with fuel.
Also calm down. My point is same is yours super sport has plenty of power. Just giving real world example.

The power and acceleration, the Tiger does not light my fire at all. It was an expensive mistake that kinda makes me sick when I think about it. Eh, live and learn right?
Anyone want to take over payments on a 2014 Triumph 800xc w/abs :rofl

I started out on a 99 R6 then traded that in for a 04 600rr a few years later moved up to a 05 R1 then switched to a 08 1098s. I sold the 1098s a few years ago & have been regretting it ever since. Now I'm in the market for a Ducati 899 or a new 959.
The liter bikes are a great on the freeway but I'd rather be on a smaller more nimble bike in the twisties. While I still had my 1098s I rode my friends 08 gsxr 750 and liked it a lot. The middleweights got just the rite amount of power.

I'm in love with the 899 and 959 too. It seems like a good balance

I sold R1100S and bought Kaw Z750S. Both bikes had pretty much the same power on paper but Z750S was a big disappointment. I should have bought Z1000 instead. I kept Z750S for 1 year and replaced it with SV1000. After 2 years on SV, I moved up to ZX14R.

the power/weight ratio of the z1000 makes it feel more like a 750 imo. Sounds cool though.. :party

Sold my R1 death machine for KTM 950 SMR ,Then Bought KTM 990 SMR and the only thing I miss is going 160MPH when I have a need for speed but what I don't like about KTM 990 is getting past by Literbikes because of HP difference .

Nice theory

If the 08 1000 RR wasn't so damn much paid for fun :)
If the 06 Real Strom wasn't so damn much paid for fun:)
If, oh wait I digress repetitively, my theory is have older bikes for every occasion:twofinger
No triple yet though:(
Must thin the fleet must thin the fleet.
