Golden State Warriors 2017-2018

What about the trade for Chris Webber? Ouch. That one set us back years.

I saw Webber play his rookie year against Malone, Stockton, and the Jazz and I thought the rest of the 90's were gonna be great, driving home, crankin' a new Nirvana album (I remembered to bring the stereo faceplate), wind blowin through my long, grunged out hair and puffing up my torn plaid flannel shirt...

Then sure enough, bad luck came a callin' like Cortney Love... C-Webb pulled his "I wanna play with Juwan" bull shit. :facepalm The dream of the 90's disappeared. I cut my hair, only wore my hiking boots for hiking, bought jeans without holes, and got a job... I hated Webber.

When he was a Sacto King he made me want the Shaq & Kobe Lakers to win. I barely tolerate him today as an announcer, but forgiveness, well... I'm trying. The 2015 Warriors championship softened me up a little, knowing that whiny POS never got a ring with anyone....

Yeah, to me, it's like "what do you want from me?" They gave everything they had, leave 'em alone. Both coach and LBJ were much more composed last night than Game One loss that's for sure. ASFAIC, getting to the Finals was a great accomplishment for them this year with all the personnel changes. I just don't know what is left to ask.

In a way sums up why I love Gregg Popovich so much. There's a guy who takes the press as seriously as they deserve.

LBJ and Lou should just go beastmode in press conferences. :twofinger

He sure did the other day.

Did you know what he knew? "No." Did you know what he was thinking? "No." Did you know what he knew? "...."

Dumb.

And then again two nights ago...

What was going through your head? "Miss it, so we can get the rebound."

Did you think about Durant's shot last year? "No."

I mean, what the fuck do you think he's thinking about? No player in the NBA is going to sit there on the court and try to compare shots and moments and mental states from this year to that year WHILE the game is going on.

But Pop's interviews though... His shit is next level. Talk about total domination and control of a presser.

That's what I meant about melodramatic. It;s like people are trying to write future inspirational screenplays in advance and get real people to validate their fantastical conceptions. Saying these things to an actual professional, not wannabe whatever. It makes me wince. Pop makes me wince, too, but then I laugh and appreciate it. Pop brings me to Andy Kaufman level discomfort while watching those press encounters. But I'm cool with it, to be sure, to make the point.

And another part of it is when they ask one player to dwell on another player's accomplishments, on the other side, the winning team. How hard must that be? Yes, I'll sit and talk about how great Durant is until the cows come home because I, too, am a fanboy and mind-reader of the guy who just beat my team. Criminy.

That beastmode and the beastmode that just responds everything with 1 word answer.

yes

no

ok

LOL

go dubs!!!!!!

Did Steph just get tossed into the first row on that corner 3 with no foul called?

Edit: Watched it again. No call was the right call.

I didn’t like that Lebron left the floor immediately after the buzzer. I saw that he congratulated the Warriors on the floor when he checkout at, but still kinda shitty IMO.

He had to go home and pack all his stuff for the move!

Congrats Dubs! Cavs are legit in the East but were outclassed in the finals.

Meh... I won't fault him for it.

Congrats to KD on the MVP. :thumbup

These are great days for sure.

KD deserved it for sure.

Cavs had absolutely no right to make it to the NBA finals, but Lebron willed them there. That in itself was a huge accomplishment for the year. If nothing else, I can feel fantastic knowing that Boston fans were very unhappy with that outcome.

Time to get back to OHV riding!

He gave KD some kind of half assed handshake, snubbed Iggy, and went for the bench. When time expired, the rest of his team gave handshakes and bro hugs to the Warriors, but he immediately fu led off to the locker room.

Complete bitch move.

It would have been much more competitive if Boston didn’t have their two best players hurt. Which of course would have made it a Warriors vs Celtics Finals. But oh well.

Loved that they had a Hennessy commercial shortly after the win

Boston without its superstars was the most over-achieving team in the playoffs, and their fans know it. I doubt they're unhappy about a thing, especially after watching a sweep with some b-ball schadenfreude. :laughing
