Why, at Spilikin Corner with you Keith, including Captain Charles and the Stabin' Cabin'. :teeth

Hehe, oh yea... Well, if we've got time, I'll deffinately be hitting you up about mounting that GoPro! Not many good spots on an R6!

So far I've mounted up... geez..over 100's GoPro cameras to bikes, a lot of them at AFM. The best rule of thumb for passing tech, is that you need a fail-safe backup system if the camera gets knocked off, and not dangle so far that it would dangle around and get caught up in something or someonej. I've used safety wire and zip-ties, both work great.

I know the round is over, but I'll be doing video at every AFM event, and am there very early and stay up late. If anyone with a GoPro needs help getting it secured our dialed in, let me know and I'll do my best to help. (even if a backup battery or emergency SD card is needed, we can usually help with that too.)

DUDE! Kevin, you da man!!! I'll definately be talking to you next round!

Thanks bro.

Hey Kevin, are you going to have a trailer there? In other words will you guys be easy to find? And are you going to be coming out on Friday for the track day?

I won't have a trailer and I won't be there Friday, but will be there starting early Sat morning. I have a Tacoma with 4theriders on the tail gate, big 4 on the hood and on the sides of the truck. I'll be setup in the garage near Dan Sewell

Safery wire or tether your GoPro or Contour is a great idea, many of the clubs are starting to require this. I don't want my $250 camera flying off down the straight.

Nice system! I really like the small camera. Hey with that GoPro on there I could rest my chin guard on it down the straights. ;) hehe Wonder if I could stuff the mount in the ignition key hole? Still think it would be too tall to look over the number plate.

I don't use my Gopro on the streetbike anymore. Too wide angle, too much wind resistance. Almost tore my head off when mounted to my helmet (I needed a Gopro pointed at my face so you could see my grimace!) and too much shaking when mounted to race bodywork. I'll never again buy a non-aerodynamically shaped camera... just too limiting. And I'll also never again buy a camera with an angle wider than about 120 degrees. When someone gets more than 10 feet away it looks like they're 50 feet away. I don't care how good the video and audio is if I never want to use the camera.

Yea, I hear ya! I'm looking at trying to mount it on the nose section of my faring, but I REALLY hate the lack of earodynamics!

Mine records just fine on the front of my bike -- but you are right, when you feel like you're right behind them -- they do look really fuckin' far away.

It's, IMO, the best thing on the market by FAR though... so I'll stick with it!

Alright, so I found a good place to mount my camera. On the front of the faring using the suction cup.

I've got a question... What is the best setting for recording? I set it to 5 and you'd think I recorded Lord of the Rings!!! The file size was HUGE!!! Something like 2.5gb. For a size to quality ratio, should I put it on 1 or 2?

For racing, more than a suction cup will be required. The Go-Pro Adhesive Mounts are more permanent, and I'd still secure the camera to it somehow. Show tech how it's mounted when you roll through next time, and see what they say since they have the last word.
