Still too small. :x

A metal tube with mechanical parts and springs. How some people can think this is "evil" can be a bit unnerving.

A fun hobby.

My love of guns closely parallels my love of motorcycles.
With both, I love them all, motorcycle, if it has two wheels, I'm a fan, cruisers, dirtbike, sportbike, standard, bobber, hell, I'll ride a scooter and have a blast! I dig them all for their own reasons.

It's much the same with guns, I like shooting big guns, little guns, rifles, shotguns, you name it. I admit to being a bit of a gun squid because I've bought more than one firearm for the sole reason I thought it looked cool :laughing

I've noticed a LOT of crossover between gun owners and motorcycle owners. Also seems most people I shoot with are folks I met through motorcycles, usually right here on BARF. Both worlds, (the gun and motorcycle worlds) have some great folks in them, glad I get to participate in so many great activities!

Very nice post! :thumbup

I'll refine my prior statement on guns.

Guns are great. However, some of their owners are a matter of concern.
I have yet to meet a legal gun owner who concerned me.

I have, however, encountered gun possessors who concerned me. FREX, a 17-year-old with a select fire Uzi, and a convicted felon with a predisposition toward domestic violence carrying two .357s.

So... you're basically saying criminals, right? :twofinger

I've found (legal) gun owners to be friendly people and surprisingly nice.

The only scary/concerning encounters I've had with gun possessors have all worn a legitimate badge. Only time anyone has every pointed a gun at my head was a pussy with a badge. Only assholes I've met at the range had SWAT team badges on their rifle gear. :nchantr

You don't have any tools that you love? Sometimes for me, a certain set of pliers, a particular wrench, the way it feels in your hand, or the grip that you get with it, I just always go for that guy first when I have an opportunity to reach into my tool trolley and use it. I have one big old fuck off screwdriver, "Big Red," that is a go to for misc., "I need to pry some shit open and nothing works right," jobs that is just a weathered and war torn old buddy of mine that I'm always pleased by when he gets the job done. I feel that way about all my firearms.

I feel an emotional attachment to my bikes, windsurfers and cars. Each has helped me get out of lots of scary situations and I have built up a level of confidence and trust that comes from their performance at the ragged edge of their performance envelope. These experiences is where the emotional attachment comes from.

The various firearms I have owned have only ever been used on the range and they are fun. Thankfully, I have never needed to use one to get out of a scary situation. I think this is why I don't have the same level of emotional attachment to them.

I voted "other" 'cause it was the only choice that doesn't involve loving or hating them. I've owned and used guns but don't have any now. Just too busy with other things to get into sport shooting, and having one in the house for personal protection comes also with risks and added responsibility.

Love them and have two....:teeth debating if i should pick up a pistol or two (debating which one) or a revolver or lever rifle....

hmm...

Don't have one, don't think I'll get one, but I think we should be able to have them.
