H8full Eight movie review

Oh! I need to check out Hitchcock stuff.
I am woefully unexposed

Don't wait until Friday. The 70mm version is an 'early/special' release. The standard version (which is 20 minutes shorter) opens on Thursday.

:dunno
My tickets are for Friday and absolutely say 70mm on them.

I realized I am a bad person, because I laughed everytime a woman was beaten and a black man was called nigger.

So my brother invited me to this movie later tonight.

Trouble is, I really don't like violent movies much any more. Don't like supporting them either. Unless it is real/documentary style.

"There Will be Blood" is about my limit.

Is this one more violent? I'm guessing it is..

Cheers

Demonoid's back?!

Yeah. PM me if you want an invitation code.

As for the Hateful Eight. Maybe I have an incredibly short attention span but I found it to be pretty boring and drag on too much. It was still a decent movie and I enjoyed the ending however I had much higher expectations coming from Tarantino.

Definitely more violent than There Will Be Blood.

Started watching it. So sssssslllllooooooooooooooooowwwwwwwwww!

I found the hangman's disbelief in SLJ's character having the letter HILARIOUS! I've also been been randomly talking with his voice inflection at work too.

The Receptionist!...The Receptionist has my delivery from Amazonnnn!?

No one gets it but I'm cracking myself UP!

Gawddamn, that was a great movie! Packed (smallish) theatre, lots of laughs, applause at intermission and at the end.

I absolutely love how Tarantino can build tension in a film through dialogue, little looks and movements from/between the characters, and the motherfucking mise en scene :laughing. It feels a lot like watching Rope...except with a LOT more blood.

Someone mentioned this before but it's pretty shocking, really, the things he can get you to laugh at. He's a damn good director, two thumbs way up, would see again.

Revenant ftw. really looking forward to seeing it, just from the trailers. don't even know who directed it..
I like Tarantino, sure, but his stuff is getting familiar..
by contrast, Scorsesee always surprises, without stomping his identity all over the production..

well
to say all of his movies have been good is quite quite an overstatement

I can see 'mixed' reviews in this thread already... not to mention on huge news sites.

I guess I'll have to see .. or , due to the 'mix' in the reviews, just wait wait wait for a DVDStream :laughing

I thought it was good, not great, and I love his movies. It was about 20 mins to long in the first half. The second half was great, but the first half it just dragged on. I really did not think seeing it in 70 mm was really that important. 90% of the movie is in one room and 70 mm is nice but not necessary and 20 mins shorter I would say wait for the standard release.

Interesting. If I had to pick a half it would likely be the first, before all hell breaks loose, because you know it's gonna. It's the anticipation...

Hateful eight may be the worst movie i have ever paid to see

The step backwards he took, from the solid django, is immense

I thought the Hateful 8 was ok. If you like Tarantino it should be enjoyable. Not his best film. I like the casting. predictable when it was trying to be clever.
