Harley Rider Wipes out In Front of My House!

Dude. Seriously? Have you ever ridden one?

I mean I'm not here to defend all things Harley, but that's just a silly thing to believe and speaks volumes to the power of internet hearsay.

I was shocked to find out Harley's had tires yet alone cold tires. :twofinger

I remember seeing a guy lay down a blue metallic dresser in front of a bar in San Diego. Guy went to turn into the parking lot hit the throttle and laid er down. Luckily there was outdoor seating so it was entertainment for all who witnessed.

Hey SFMCjohn - yeah, I think it's pretty cool that the club is so old, and that they meet in the bottom of an old house. And I do suspect that it hasn't always been all Harleys. They seem like nice folks and I've heard they do some good bbqs! This poor fella was probably new to the club and probably to Harlies...and to wipe out almost right in front of the club oughta cause enough humiliation to last awhile :thumbup

And thanks for posting that about the RD drop. Man oh man...glad the fella's ok! But sad to see that poor wrecked bike on the lift truck.

Look'n forward to meeting you in person at a vintage meetup soon!

As for this guy who wiped out...I watched/heard him crank on the throttle about halfway through that right steep lean, so I suspect that had something to do with it (I saw all this happen from the comfort of my front porch rocker).

Cheers,
Matt

Hey Matt,

I guess if we're lucky we'll all have a chance to do something silly on a motorcycle in front of a crowd ... Cary saw a fellow dump his old bike at
Thee Parkside Cruise-in last Wednesday in front an appreciative audience ... pretty sure he was OK, too ... :party

The Dons own that old house ... it's fun to stick your head into the club on a Wednesday before their meeting ... some cool old photos and memorabilia ...

Hope to see you at Thee Parkside on 6/25 or over in Oakland on 6/28 ... maybe I'll have my '73 Triumph back on the road by then (charging issues, surprise! :laughing )

see you in the parking lot, :ride

When I was ~ 14 we lived on this long cul de sac with rough pavement at the entry.

One morning some guy I'd never seen before turned onto the street and grabbed a handful of throttle - the bike highsided and pitched him off.

This was back when CA didn't have a helmet law - I had heard some noises and went to investigate.

He was laying there passed out and the bike was laying in the weeds.

I kinda wandered over to see if he was still alive... seemed to be...

Eventually he came to and some other neighbors came out to help him

I guess it didn't deter me from wanting a motorcycle :laughing

A few years ago on Maui on a sunny day after a light rain I watched a dude on a rental Harley blip the throttle mid-turn and low side the bagger. No helmet. He died right there at the entrance to Kaanapali.

Sucks, woulda been more epic if he flew off the road to Hana.

That was harsh.:| Must have been hard to watch.

So? It's not like Hana is 3000 miles from Kaanapali. One could ride from one end to the other in a day. If you're going to splatter yourself on Maui, do it with style. Even better, go sailing off the top of Haleakela. :D
