harley riders just snobby or safe?

Now that I wear a 'Stich and ride something other than a Japanese sportbike, I get a lot more waves...

You are always looking for something to get uppity about, aren't you? Carry on, man. You are entertaining. :thumbup

Wasn't looking for anything, just tired of the elitist attitude about 3-wheelers. You're hardly the first I've seen have this attitude.

I wave at everyone riding... 3 wheelers, scooters, harley riders, cops etc...
The elitist for me are the ones on the scooters, they never even nod... but will quickly decide their place is in the same lane next to me at a stop... I don't even do that with people I know lol
(and I didn't mean to bash scooter riders on here, just saying...)

I wave at everyone...spr0tbiles, Harley guys, cops, kids, soccer moms...

Only the soccer moms ignore my plea for recognition of my coolness on two wheels.

Damn soccer mom's... :rant

Be careful with the soccer moms Budman. There is a whole forum on how they get too much unwanted attention. Guys are constantly waving at them, asking how they like their new mini van and wanting to know where the best place for a kiddie pizza party is.

Yo Souldude... Here ya go :wave
Hope ya feel better now.

Strictly... Last time I saw a grom in the wild was in Maui and I rented it.
So this :wave is for you!

ok dont want to group them all in one, just from my experience a majority act the same way. curious if the harley riders here can put some insight.

riding and waved at at least 6 harley riders today. most of them going through mid life crisis? (white hair, overweight, etc) none of them acknowledged, are they too cool for school lol. they all have that snobby look on their faces. maybe they just want to keep 2 hands on the bars, but not even a nod.

also i see they tend to hog up the road and not let other riders pass. is this a thing too? im sure they think sport riders are a bunch of no good dangerous kids.(off the lawn!) (but i dont ride a supersport) ha!

Dont waste any effort waving at them......

Poo, I wave.. Lots don't wave back...Some wave back.

I can't interview an on-coming rider, to find out if they are Nice or Nasty.

If they are Nasty, So what? Not My problem.

Jeez, posts like this are so annoying.. Are you sad you're not accepted by Harley riders? It's a different culture.. Just like most people who ride sport bikes are douche bags... There are always lames in the game. Just ride your own ride and don't get your feelings hurt if you don't get a wave back.

Most of the time i am too focused to wave, so fuk it I just nod not an FU to any fellow rider I am just too busy riding to take hand off bars dig it man?!

I try to wave at all motorcyclist, harley, sport bike, touring etc but i don't really wave at people on scooters. I think you need a minimum of 250cc to warrant a wave lol just kidding. As many have stated above I don't get bent out of shape if someone doesn't wave back. When I open a door for someone it's nice if they say thank you, but if they don't I'm not upset I did a nice gesture for someone else. It's called not sweating the small stuff.

Try riding a grom...NO ONE WAVES TO YOUUUU =(

i would wave at you =D

as for all the people saying butthurt this butthurt that. jesus, its like talking to a retarded wall (might be insulting a wall here). do you guys even read the post. im CURIOUS why they dont wave back. i could care less if they never do it. regardless ill still wave because we all put ourselves in the same dangers and its just to acknowledge it.

I always thought it was the BMW guys who were snobs, they never wave back unless you are on another BMW!

Ok, it sounds like this needs to be posted.

I love motorcycles, and I love riding. Like many of you, what first
drew me to bikes was not just the experience of riding, but the
feeling that I'd become part of a special community-a brotherhood,
really. Nothing calms me more than a long ride down the interstate,
waving to the members of my beloved clan. Except when I pass Harley
guys. I hate Harley guys. Hate, hate, hate. When they pass me on the
highway, you know what I do? I don't wave. With their little tassle
handlebars and the studded luggage and the half-helmets-God, they
drive me crazy.

You know who else I hate? BMW guys. Oh, I do hate those guys. I don't
wave at them, either. They think they're so great, sitting all
upright, with their 180-degree German engines. God, I hate them.
They're almost as bad as those old b******s on their touring
motorcycles. You know what I call those bikes? "Two-wheeled couches!"
Get it? Because they're so big. They drive around like they've got
all day. Appreciate the scenery somewhere else, Grampa, and while
you're at it, I'm not waving to you.

Ducati guys-I don't wave at them either. Why don't they spend a
little more money on their bikes? "You can have it in any color you
want, as long as it's red." Aren't you cool! Like they even know what
a desmo-whatever engine is, anyway. Try finding the battery, you
Italian-wannabe racers! I never, ever wave at those guys.

Suzuki guys aren't much better, which is why I never wave at them,
either. They always have those stupid helmets sitting on top of their
stupid heads, and God forbid they should wear any safety gear. They
make me so mad. Sometimes they'll speed by and look over at me and
you know what I do? I don't wave. I just keep on going. Please, don't
get me started on Kawasaki guys. Ninjas? What are you, twelve years
old? Team Green my ass. I never wave at Kawasaki guys.

I ride a Honda, and I'll only wave at Honda guys, but even then, I'll
never wave at a guy in full leathers. Never, never, never. Yeah, like
you're going to get your knee down on the New York Thruway.
Guys in full leathers will never get a wave from
me, and by the way, neither will the guys in two-piece leathers. And
I'll tell you who else I'm not waving at-those guys with the helmets
with the loud paintjobs. Four pounds of paint on a two pound helmet-
like I'm going to wave back to that! I'll also never wave at someone
with a mirrored visor. Or helmet stickers. Or racing gloves. Or
hiking boots.

To me, motorcycling is a like a family, a close-knit brotherhood of
people who ride Hondas, wear jeans and a leather jacket (not Vanson)
with regular gloves and a solid-color helmet with a clear visor, no
stickers, no racing gloves and regular boots (not Timberlands). And
isn't that what really makes riding so special?

Wasn't looking for anything, just tired of the elitist attitude about 3-wheelers. You're hardly the first I've seen have this attitude.

I don't wave to three wheelers. This isn't because of any sort of elitist attitude. I wave to motorcyclists (including scooter riders). I don't wave to cars, trucks, semis, three wheelers, etc. This isn't because I feel that I am better than the folks who drive them. It's simply because the wave is something fun that motorcyclists often exchange with one another. Nothing more. Nothing less. :dunno
