Have you heard of Lewis Leathers?

I have a Johnson jacket and I really like it. It's horsehide and will probably last 100 years. It also has pockets for the Forcefield armor as well as a back protector. Johnson's will make a custom suit for a very good price, to just about any style you can think of, including a Lewis look-alike.

Another option is Zooni. Juan Lindo can make any style you like. Helimot will also do custom work, but focuses on the roadrace style.

i looked at these.... then i got a MK2 cobra and sport rider pants from vanson. lewis is ultra nice, but i couldent see myself falling in them.

edit: if you want period correct, they are the best IMO, but dont ride hard when you wear them. i would hate to see a set meet the road

If I get a Vanson, it will be the Technical Hardcore model. Which is a misleading name since not part of the sport rider line. The Cobra is a great jacket, but as I said, I'll be riding a Harley. So riding hard isn't exactly gonna be happening. Aaaaand since I'm a Harley buyer, obviously form is just as important if not more than function when it comes to the jacket.

Furygan makes some excellent products; all designed and stitched together in France, all with CE armor...or at least most of them.

Here's one of several "classic" looking jackets they offer, (they also offer more modern looking stuff for those on SS machines and such).

The local distributor is great.

I have a Belstaff Mojave (http://britishmotorcyclegear.com/belstaff-mojave-leather-jacket.asp) and I love it. Its heavy and warm. Keep in mind most of these are designed for British weather tho, so its mostly winter/SF gear.

BMG's Montana jacket is actually really nice but a different cut, didn't fit me as well. But nice quality and has decent venting. http://britishmotorcyclegear.com/montana-jacket.asp

I tried the Montana on at the IMS last month and I really liked the fit. Though I had to use a 46 because a 44 which is my true size was awful tight. The price is really nice too!

if that is your style check out langlitz in portland oregon,
still about a grand+ but i can say thery are worth it. just not my style too old school for me.

Never heard of them before. I really like their designs, but they don't look very... functional. It doesn't look like the jackets have armor. Their boots look cool too, but they clearly aren't even water-resistant, with their huge zippers. Seems like form over function.
