Last couple years I've been having trouble getting food down the ol' throat there. At first I just thought i was eating too fast (not chewing my food), but now it's almost a daily occurrence and I'd like to think that with 27 years on this planet I have enough experience chewing food to rule that out. Hurts pretty good when it happens but if i wait long enough it normally finds its way down. More often then not I just go to a bathroom or walk somewhere outside and stick a finger down my throw a la Bulimia and that takes care of it. Never find myself having any trouble breathing though, which I find strange ... but i'm not doctor. So i'd like to know what all the smart guys on the internet think about my situation :laughing

Thoughts, comments, dare I say suggestions? :twofinger

Dear No Homo,
Tonsils intact?
Anxious reaction to swallowing (food)

Why are you asking Barf and not your doctor? Might be something serious, you should get it checked out.

You know maybe I will, after reading Matts link there, on page two under the symptoms I have like 5 of them b*tches :|

Had a buddy with one, he got a new nickname, all the same it was serious when it finally came to a head (no pun [well maybe a little one:laughing] intended).

So go see Dr. and get a referral to a specialist.

If you drop dead you can't log on and give me sh*t. :twofinger

Thanks bud

Possibly neurological, and if that's the case, not good. Swallowing is a complex process that involves a lot of muscles moving just so. Go see a doctor NOW.

Also, M4M. :twofinger

Not to be debbie downer here, but my step-dad recently died of Parkinson's. His first symptoms were difficulty swallowing.

+gazillion on seeing your doc

Go see a doctor now. Don't wait till next week. Please. You're an irritating prick and I'd miss you and be sad if you died.

I had a friend who had trouble swallowing. Two weeks later he developed secretion glands on his anus and turned ghey...not that there's anything wrong with that. Also, the swallowing problem went away.

Clearly the real answer is, just make an appointment.

Just like every one else says go see a doctor ,,,,
or we can send over Valgar to fix you up

Go see a doctor.
That said, I had a similar issue a while back. I went and they found nothing. It eventually went away and I attributed it to stress. I was also having some panic attacks and other things at the time.

Do you have access to affordable medical care? If so, pursue it. The differential is too broad to adequately explore on an internet motorcycle forum. I actually treat dysphagia a for a living, if that gives any weight to my advice.

Sometimes have to drink fluids before the solids. I think it stretches the muscles and gets things coordinated.

Usually happens after many hours of not eating or drinking anything.

The fact that you chewed tobacco should be cause for concern. Cancer can happen years later. Go see a doctor ASAP and get it checked out.
