I’m currently replacing fork seals on a 08 GSX1300R Hayabusa. When installing the fork cap, manual says set damper rod lock nut to 11mm for proper rebound clicker operation. Found only had 8 total clicks. Don’t know why but I had thought this had 12-16 clicks. Online owners manual and 2 different shop manual only listed factory settings but did not give total clicks available. Anybody have an 08 or second gen Busa with knowledge of total clicks for rebound adjuster?

TWF, basically that’s what I did. Used RaceTechs method and set it for 16 clicks. From fully ccw I turned in 16 clicks, run it down damper rod until just stops, finger tight the lock nut then backed off 4 clicks to torque the locknut. Of course since I don’t know the actual range the last clicks turning out might not be doing anything but not gonna stress over that. Mainly when I saw people recommending setting rebound to 7 or 8 clicks I figured the book setup wasn’t working for me.

Just have to make sure you have enough threads engaging cap, 10mm min.
If those clicks are 1/4 turn each anything past 12 will make it full open so no need for 16.

Yep. Rule of thumb thread engagement equal diameter. Did measure and torqued to their spec. So everything felt good as in you can feel damping changes so yeah, last 4 clicks out might be superfluous if it’s full open at 12 but no harm either. Thanks for the reply though
