HJC's new flagship helmet

I was thinking "Captain America, Bruce Lee, and Evel Knievel". Guess that dates me, huh?

When did Spies sign with Harley-Davidson?

buy it from someone that gives you a 30 day return. if you don't like it, return it for the price of some shipping.

I own a HJC dirt bike helmet. It worked great for yrs, until I wore out the liner from washing it. Because that model is several yrs old, they no longer sell that models liner.

The thing about helmets, is that if you don't need the best and newest right out of the gate, you can get deals on ebay all day long. I waited for the Suomy Spec 1R Neil Hodgson Laguna replica, and picked it up this year for $250. Suomy can sit on a shelf for 2 years and then be worn for 5 more. So with a little patience, I got a helmet that retailed for $720 for $250. I like the Suomy Spec 1R's BTW. But I also like the Icon Alliance helmets, they fit me really well. Patience is your friend when buying any motorcycle gear. I don't think I've paid retail on any kit I own.

I don't know but I bet it was after you went color blind? ;)

Spies's helmet is red/white/blue, the harley is black and orange.

My HJC FS-15 was the best helmet I ever bought. I liked it even better than my Shoei RF1000, which was also awesome. Of course, it must fit your head to be a good helmet for you. I got an FS-15 carbon off ebay for $250, crashed it, got another FS-15 Elbowz replica for $100 off ebay!

Let the price drop a bit on this RPS-10 and I am gonna be all over it. HJC is not a lower-tier brand anymore, try one on at you'll see.

i still have my spies carbon fiber helmet pretty damn good helmet

Totally agreed, I've never paid a full retail for any of the gears I have. I also do gear shopping on Ebay. Investing some of your time can save you a ton of money. One of the Best deals I've got on Ebay is that I got a Helimot back protector which retails $169 for $9.99+shipping.

I love this RPS-10 a lot, but it's too much for me so I am hoping to see some of these on Ebay in the near future.

I really like the patriot graphics. I usually wear solid colors, but this looks very nice. It a pretty loud design, but not ugly or too busy by any means. I'm in the market for a new helmet, and have been looking at closeout sharks and scorpions with tame graphics in the 200ish range. I know those are good helmets, as I have tried and rode in a few, but the HJC seems like a nice option. Been looking at the close out bell stars as well, none of the colors or graphics are to my liking.

A bit out of my budget, and I don't really like that you can't close the rear vents for rain riding, but I love the styling and that the mirror shields also have pin lock posts, and they only cost 45 bucks. I love the pinlock on my shoei, but I also love riding with my mirror shield, and I'm not going to lay down 100+ bucks to import a shoei compatible pin lock mirror shield from overseas.

Going to have to try this on someday. If it fits, that 10% off coupon i just received from newenough will finally have a purpose. Will also have to save up a bit more as well.

sorry for the thread revival, but where in the City or the Penninsula can I try one of these out. CycleGear doesnt carry them anymore and Mission has very few models to pick from? I asked for a an HJC on my last BDay and got an ARAI:twofinger...Stupid Wifey:rofl J/K

I picked up a RPS-10 from New Enough for $250, just did a trackday with it Monday, great helmet, light, quiet, no complaints.

I've tried on the new RPS-10. I have to say I was VERY impressed with fit/finish. It's definitely right up there with Arai and Shoei.. but much cheaper.

I'm on my 4th HJC helmet as of yesterday, after I picked up another CS-R1 for commuting. Along with anothr CS-R1 and a couple of FS-15's (Elbowz II and Prism), it's safe to say I'm an HJC fan for a bit now. I also love how my lone smoked visor is compatible between the two models.

Great fit and aerodynamic all around, and all around great price for their models. :thumbup

I actually have some small paint issues on my patriot helmet. A couple of rough spots that don't bother me that much, but I would not have expected them to be there considering the price.

Other than that, it's a great helmet. I have a post in the review section with first impressions, though that has changed a little since I've ridden in it more. The top vents flow air really well even at lot speeds, but the chin vent is pretty worthless.

Can't get a good seal on the pinlock insert, but it works. In cold weather, condensation is an issue, so the breath guard is a must. Seems to have a bit more distortion compared to my shoei pinlock though, perhaps due to the shape of the shield. I don't really like riding at night because of that, though just taking off the pinlock insert fixes this issue. Seems that stores are finally getting smoke and mirror shields in stock now.

I loved my HJC FS-15 Carbon fiber helmet. Light, awesome looking, good sound proofing. easy to change visor.

I hit a deer, went sliding and cracked the back of the helmet a bit, I'm fine and had NO headache or sore head.

So I bought another (red) carbon FS-15.
Clearance online, Just under $200.
Love it even more. :)

:thumbup:thumbup...That's a testimonial..with teeth.

And to get this for such a low cost...is pretty amazing.

The star on Ben's helmet is a take off on the "Star and Bar" insignia flown on US fighters since WWII, (Sorry to all the comic character lovers)...

Interesting, but I think you are mistaken also. What connection would he have with old U.S. military insignia?

The white star on the blue background, with the white stripe above the red stripe is very indicative of the Texas state flag. He is from Texas and proudly displays this. The sides of the helmet actually have an outline around a white and red stripe.
