How’s the BARF Militia doing?

When I bought my SKS, it was consider a C&R rifle. That's why I was able to plonk down cash monies and walk out of the gun show with it with no wait period (this was before all CA rifles were registered).

I think a C&R gun is 45? 50 years old?

I don't know the rules surrounding them today.

I don't remember initial cost.
FFL 03 renewal is $30 every 3 years.
CoE $22 annually.
I save well over that cost annually given the smallbore leagues that I shoot in and the high end ammo that I use. Also picked up a couple of vintage rifles along the way.
I never even considered the type 3 before. I knew thay were much cheaper to maintain. Does it allow you to accept ammo, and parts from online vendors too? Or is just vintage guns?

I've got a great deal when I get a pallet of ammo shipped to lake county. Its the parts that are becoming an inconvience, especially small orders when I just need a spring or firing pin etc.

Buying a new property in the next year, and have been pondering getting a type one. But the cost is not insignificant for the amount of business I'd like to do in retirement. I love shotguns, tinkering on them, and perhaps even modifying stocks with Graco hardware for other sporting shooters.

The 03 doesn't help with parts.
You can get ammo shipped to your door, but there are a lot of vendors that won't. Calguns has a list of those who will.

Calguns has imploded. Check out CAGuns.net, most of the guys have moved over there. Northbay guy started the site and its rocking.

I was underwhelmed by CAguns.
Calguns has is issues, namely works most of the time but not all of the time, but I've always found what I wanted.
Just picked up 380 acp for .30 per round. Because of my 03, no sin tax, no sales tax, direct buy, actual .30 per round.

You’re lucky. When I can get on CalGuns, it mostly works fine. But getting on CalGuns is hit or miss, mostly miss.

Went to test out my newly cut-down PS90 yesterday. Ran flawlessly. Now I just need to find somebody with a 3D printer to make me a go faster switch so it can be closer to a P90. ;)

The ceracoat job is pretty awesome IMO. Especially if you painted it on yourself. Id that's a paste and stick pattern cooked hard in the oven, then I want to know where to find it. Their site is dizzying. Last time I shot 5.7 it was a dollar per round, i hope that price came down for your sake!

It is running much better but it’s not “fixed”. I and others still have problems logging on and getting error messages.

don't they make an FRT for the PS90?

I was sooooooo close to buying a PSA Jackyl in 300BO already SBR'd and came with suppressor and Steiner 1-4x scope. But then I realized that for what the guy wanted for it I could put a bathroom in my workshop and really want to be able to not have to run to the house every time nature calls plus I have all the parts to put together an SBR 300BO so it didn't make as much sense to buy it.

Thanks. I did it myself. Taught myself how to Cerakote after the local gun shop quoted me $350 to do one of my AR pistols. Bought a $70 HVLP spray gun and a $10 oven from FB marketplace and a few jars of Cerakote. This is the C-series coating which is air-cured, I didn’t want to risk putting the plastic PS90 stock and the FiveseveN in the oven.

You can buy the high-heat vinyl masking stencils on eBay. It’s a lot of work, masking it alone was a pain because without the upper on there there’s a lot of holes to fill. Spray on the base coat (the darker brown). Wait 2 hours for the Cerakote to be tack-free. Mask it with the larger stencil pattern. Spray on the highlights (lighter sand). Again wait 2 hours for it to be tack free before masking with the thinner stencils. Then finally the fill (FDE). Wait 5 days for a full cure.

Got the tiger stripe stencils from this guy: https://ebay.io/m/c7zN8N

5.7 is down to about $20/box if you’re quick enough to jump on the online sales. That’s getting closer to 5.56 prices. Last time I was at BassPro they were selling for $29/box of 50.

Yea, two companies are making the PS90 FRT but they’re asking $300 and $450 for it. And they both have mixed reviews, there’s a lot of finessing to make them work. There’s an open source version that somebody with a 3D printer can make for about $3 in materials.

I actually looked at that 9mm JAKL a couple of years ago but the price didn’t sit right. Then Springfield imported the Kuna last year and it’s a proven platform and with my Military/LE discount it came out even cheaper than the barebones JAKL.

I am looking forward to PSA releasing the X57, sort of a 5.7 clone of H&K’s MP7. Been a bit of a sucker for PDW’s lately. 😂

Oh that X57 looks sexy. Put a can on that bad boy and rock and roll.

Made the mistake of going to our local sporting goods store Academy and found some really nice M&P pistols and the TTI Canik. So want one but that would put me in a different class in USPSA and I am not good enough to be in that class. Also found that they sell whisper pickles now too which was new.

My wish list,
I did buy a Mossburg Mariner, what I could buy with a SD license in Az. @ a gun show.
Not a fan of the pistol grip, @ right angle to the gun, and a bit longer with full load 13 mini's
Make it way heavier. I like the slim design, fits in an umbrella stand, skinny pocket on a backpack,
Gen 1, with the grip strap
Gen 2, pick a color, middle for me,
Specs
I'm getting a new Az address next month, Az DL will grant me access along with my Az concealed permit
My new "Lil' Blastard". ,(a spin on James Dean's Porsche)
I tried a Rossi Ranch Hand, A McQueen mare's leg in 38/357, narrow rim cartridge's jammed a lot,
double release of rounds.
Was looking to get leather wrapped with that name carved into it.
My new project, , ,

Now for a real muffler to fit a 12 gauge,
Only 40 miles to Prescott, over the hill, , ,

I'm having no problems at all. After the recent upgrade, they kept working on a couple of things. I haven't lugged in days.

I haven't seen a 12ga can since the one Silecenrco came out with but forget the name of it.

I really need to step up my suppressor game with stamps being free and wait times down to days.
