How are street stunters protected?

I love a good street stunt video but have always wondered how these guys are protected. Several of them put their names or very traceable alias in the videos or are high profile with them locking freeways, circles around intersections, 100mph wheelies on the freeway 150mph fly-bys etc.

Is it out of respect, lack of time, or some actual legal protection/loophole that these guys are walking?
 
They're not protected. Cops ticket and arrest them when they see it happening, and probably even take the bikes. But that footage doesn't make the stunt video.
 
Well, obviously they are not protected while doing the stunts. The question is how do the famous ones that make video after video stay out of jail...
 
I think the gubbmint is going to have to give the specific time, date, and location of the stuntcrime if they want to prosecute the rider.
 
yeah they are full of effects like wideangle lens and slow motion... but yeah those tricks are real.
 
So let's get this scenario straight:

A Walnut Creek police officer sees a video and notices the off ramp is a local Walnut Creek one. He sees the plate and can ID the guy on the bike(tattoo on arm, whatever).
The problem with his case against the stunter, I think, would be that he couldn't prove WHEN it happened, and what the circumstances outside the camera are.

As we've all seen in movies, they can make it look like anything. For all we know, those cars being "stopped" by the stunters could be extras playing their role in a movie.

They are protected by our legal system that has a basis in preferring that some guilty go free, rather than any innocent go to jail.

But if you don't like that, go try someplace that does it different, just don't step out of line, or be the victim of a mistake...
 
when theres a lot of bikers you cant really do much.. look at any hells angels meets those get WILD cops cant stop those. they can break it up but the relocate and do the same thing yet again.. as far as street videos go. when in doubt throttle out.
