How common are your first and last names in the US?

I used to live in a house with three Bill’s. When we got a phone call with someone asking for Bill, our standard answer was “Which one?”

First name is just over 1200. Last name not found. That's good or bad, depending on how you look at it. I can't hide from name searches behind hundreds of similar names.

I have the fifth most common first name for men and the fourth most common surname in America.

Mods still ignoring my request in post number two to fix the title. :dunno

Wife's maiden name is Honchock. So there. It is as common as common sense. Her mom's maiden name was Strunk, which is rather uncommon as well.

I'm thinking it's a safe bet...
There are more David's than Geoff's...
Short for Geoffrey?
Wasn't that the giraffe at Toy's R Us?

David...like the King? Or the King of Late Night, Letterman...after Johnny, of course...
Speaking of Johnny...Spent some time with an old high school buddy of mine yesterday...Real name John Smith
Davey Jones...David Bowie...his real name was Jones, as well...
Or the claymation guy with the dog..."Hey, Davey"...Which was undercover religion based propaganda.

My last name...no, it's not Ventura...
Butler...
Lots of black...sorry, African American Butler's...
Back in the day...Your name was what you did...John Carpenter...Axel Foley...Jim Cook
The best Butler, on film...Sir Arthur John Gielgud in Arthur, with Dudley Moore and whatsherface...Liza something...
Minnelli...uh huh
Also...The Butler was way more than the guy who opened the door...He RAN the entire house.
Also, also...The name comes from the Norman French bouteillier, meaning "cup-bearer" or "bottler," which itself is derived from the Latin buticula ("bottle").

The most common variation...Butlick...
Ask me how I know...

:teeth

Also...also...My middle name is my Father's first name...
Larry...really Laurence, like Fishburne NOT Arabia...
Laurence is commonly used in English and as a feminine form in French. It is also related to Lawrence, Lorenzo (Italian), Lorenz (German), and Lars(Scandinavian)

Love history of shit that doesn't matter.

I have the most common last name. My first name almost rhymes with it and as an "old lady name" is gaining popularity after falling out of fashion for many decades.

i call bullshit. my last name shows zero. my husbands family breeds like rabbits, and there are a shit ton of them (all over the east and west coast). and they are definitely not the type to fly under the radar.

First name: 99. Surprised it’s that high; it fell way out of favor after being very popular in the mid-60s. In one high-school French class, there were four of us in a group of 9. The other three had to choose different French names (I got “Pierre”).

Last name: not on list. I am the only living person with my first+last name combo. I’m special.

My first name isn't in the table, and my last name was 719th. Interestingly, the only person I have ever run across with the same first and last name as me is an executive with Blue Cross in Chicago, and he is a black man. A long time ago I uploaded an image of me into an app that was supposed to tell you which celebrity you look like, and it returned Will Smith. But you can call me Vanilla Ice.
