How Safe Is Vasco Rd.?

Was on Vasco Rd. yesterday. non commute hours, Sunday. So I would agree with them, it is safer now.

Try it at morning rush hour on a weekday, in the dark, a potential light mist of dew in spots, dodging minivans driven by women who are applying makeup as they drive, and guys who overslept and are 30 minutes late for work. At 60 mph, with somebody tailgating you as you tailgate somebody else.

Damn scary road!

You don't take Morgan Territory Road to get there quickly, you take it to enjoy the ride and to challenge your riding skills.
How can one enjoy the ride given these perilous conditions? Any road where I can descend faster on my bicycle than on my bike, makes it an inappropriate road for me -- and Morgan Territory is such a road. (BTW, climbing it on my pedal bike is the only time I enjoy that road).

But if you guys find equal pleasure on motorbikes, good for you.

See that is where I am in agreeance with everyone here....better in non commute hours, weekends perhaps. etc.. And in the time of day you are describing yes it probably is more dangerous in that road, Vasco, in any road for that matter when the road is built like that. I don't ride in those times.

Of course I prefer riding in a road opposite of time you just described. But if you have to, you have to and just have to be on your p's and q's. I would be hugging the right side of the lane in a two lane highway. I would, not say tailgaiting the car in front of me but close to where I am not alone out there with no cars around me going my way (so that the opposite lane cars would see more), reflectors on my gear, what have you.
