I have a K&L rebuild kit for the stock master cylinder on my Honda ST 1100. Lately I've noticed some stiction and an almost imperceptable notch with the lever pull. I would like to pull the master cylinder off and rebuild it. Is it straightforward job or is there anything I should know? I have a good deal of experience bleeding and servicing everything else in a brake system. I have just never gotten into a master cylinder.

If there isn't any rust or corrosion, just replace parts. Lube the new seal first.

If you've rebuilt a caliper then rebuilding an MC is simple. Plenty of tutorials out there.

If you have basic skills, watch a YouTube video. Clean the shit out of it when you take it apart, keep it clean when you put it back together, and make sure you put the seals back in the right way. It's really freaking simple.
