Have we discussed hybrid motos? I was not aware of any. Are these the Prius of motos? Does anyone here have one?

The first question you should ask is whether or not anybody currently makes one. I've never heard of a hybrid motorocycle.

If there are some, can you list them?

So basically a motor for power generation and then electric motor to drive the rear wheel? May as well just connect that motor to the rear wheel via a chain...

Kawasaki has this Ninja 7 hybrid
451 cc parallel twin + an electric motor

It weighs 130 lb more than a Ninja 500 without the e-motor

I believe a hybrid motorcycle would add a lot of weight. Not what we want.

Thanks for posting this.

It just barely bumps up over my upper weight limit for motorcycles, which is at 500 pounds. Of the 25 bikes I've owned, only one, the 1090 Adv R, was over 500 pounds and only when the fuel tank was full.

Are there any others that anybody knows about?

That's wild, but also, that much weight for a tiny motor, I can't imagine that thing is particularly fun to ride...

They’re claiming literbike acceleration. Could be true for short durations. The average output for daily travel doesn’t need to be all that high, and all other things being equal, the smaller displacement engine will make adequate power with better economy. With some surplus energy stored in the battery, the extra acceleration is on tap, as long as you aren’t using it constantly.

Completely agree, better economy and the performance on tap when occasionally wanted. This sort of technology is more appealing to me than the pure electric, especially if it meets the ever tightening emissions and means extending the life cycle of ICE motorcycles. Pure electric simply doesn't work for me on the street or dirt, the functional utility just isn't there for me with pure electric.

Would be interesting to see if they could do a REEV (range extended electric vehicle) motorcycle like the Ram 1500 Ramcharger I'm considering for my next vehicle (to my own surprise, honestly... though maybe not if it can be had for a reasonable price.... 14k-lb tow capacity, 2,500-lb payload, 660hp, 600mi total range!). It's an EV with Penstar V6 used as a generator ONLY, no connection to the wheels.

The moto version would be HEAVY, but at least it could probably offset that (a little) by liter-bike-stomping acceleration.... but at what cost?? (worse than hayabusa rotundness/handling)
