I’m raising money to build a Muslim gay bar next to the Ground Zero mosque

How about this mosque?

Al_Aqsa.jpg

Al-Aqsa mosque.
It was build on the Temple Mount, holiest ground for Jews. How about many mosques in Europe that are build instead of churches that were destroyed by radical islam? Radicals in Muslim world tend to mark places of destruction an murder by building a mosques.

Um, the Romans made that holy site a pile of rubble if you actually bothered to read a history book.

Yeah... only muslims destroy things and then make them their own.

Damn it. I couldn't find that Gentelmen Club when I was in NY. Had to go to Little Italy for the $25 quickie.:mad

That blog is beyond stupid. He posts pictures of people selling NYFD stuff yet says they are not thinking about 9/11 anymore.

Furthermore, the towers did not come down by someone flying an airplane into them yelling "McDonalds Ackbar!" or "titties Ackbar!"

:rolleyes + :laughing

He didn't say that. He said they build mosques on top of them.

It is nobody's business what a group of people does with a building on their private land. That building can be a church, a house, or an establishment where consenting adults enjoy highly addictive substances such as nicotine and caffeine. As long as the group of people does not break any laws, they should be able to do whatever they want, e.g. enjoy the pursuit of happiness through prayer.

Not poking at you, but in my line of work I find those rights negated.

Zoning ordinances, City Councils, Public hearings etc.. Comply and you still get to fight City hall for a permit. At least in the big cities those ZO's say what you can and can't do..

It's really that hard to open a masage parlor?:twofinger

There are 4 major narratives liberal use in their condenscending attitudes towards conservatives. I see these narratives used every day, in the KS, by liberals when they argue their points with conservatives. You just used numbers 2 and 3 instead of debating the issues.

1. The vast right-wing conspiracy.
2. Americans who support conservative ideas must have been manipulated at best, or stupid at worst
3. Conservatives are racist.
4. Conservatives are driven purely by emotion and anxiety -- including fear of change -- whereas liberals have the harder task of appealing to evidence and logic

I have little to add to this thread, except to point out that being able to define an argument doesn't make it wrong. :twofinger

Haaretz notwithstanding, Cordoba House still moving forward
Posted By David Kenner Monday, August 16, 2010 - 5:45 PM

The American media has refrained all day from echoing Haaretz's report that the leaders of the Cordoba Initiative, which is planning to construct an Islamic community center in downtown Manhattan, "will soon back down, agreeing to move to a new site." And for good reason: The Haaretz story only said that its report had been confirmed by "sources in New York," which really only narrows it down to approximately 8 million people.

The official Twitter account of Park51, the developer constructing the center, has now stepped in to deny the story. "Reports by Haaretz are completely false," tweeted @Park51. "We are committed to plans of building Park 51 to serve the community of Lower Manhattan.

Score one for American media. And cross Haaretz off your list of sources for news on this story.

Poooooooor little Conservative. Never said a bad fucking word about "liberals" and this is how they treat you? Just attack you out of nowhere, huh? Call you stupid face? Just straight up blind siding you with personal attacks that are totally unwarranted because you have nothing but respect for others' political opinions, huh?

Sheesh, you fellas NEVER call anything a "liberal conspiracy" do ya? Naw, you wouldn't do that. Like, the news for example. You wouldn't claim it was some liberal conspiracy would ya?

Christ, what a load of crybaby bullshit this one is. :rofl

Democrat. Republican. Two sides of the same coin and both of them too stupid to know it.

If built, the 13-story community center and mosque project will be one of hundreds of buildings located within blocks of Ground Zero — a densely populated area that already includes a couple of mosques, along with less "hallowed" institutions, like strip clubs, bars and Off Track Betting operations.

Not too sacred to have strip clubs I guess......

It's not whining, it's pointing out the obvious. Ever notice how few conservatives post in the KS anymore? Could it be we know liberals are incorrigible assholes? Most of the threads are just liberal circlejerks. :laughing

You are still butt hurt from that time I made you look like a fool, aren't you B81? :thumbup

Reid breaks with Obama, opposes mosque
http://www.politico.com/news/stories/0810/41127.html
By MEREDITH SHINER | 8/16/10 7:43 PM EDT
Breaking with President Barack Obama, Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid (D-Nev.) announced his opposition Monday to an Islamic mosque and cultural center being sited a few blocks from Ground Zero in New York.

The construction of the center, which has come under fire and become a talking point for Republicans, was supported Friday by the president in a speech at the White House marking the beginning of the Muslim holiday of Ramadan.

On Monday, a spokesman for the senator, who’s facing a tough reelection bid this fall, weighed in on what now has become a national issue.

“The First Amendment protects freedom of religion,” Reid spokesman Jim Manley said in a statement. "Sen. Reid respects that but thinks that the mosque should be built someplace else. If the Republicans are being sincere, they would help us pass this long-overdue bill to help the first responders whose health and livelihoods have been devastated because of their bravery on 9/11, rather than continuing to block this much-needed legislation."

The Sept. 11 responders legislation failed in the House before it left for its summer recess, despite 255 “yes” votes because Democrats placed the legislation on the suspension calendar, meaning that it would need the support of two-thirds of the House for passage.

Reid is a politician up for re-election, so I would not take anything he says as being sincere.

No politician is sincere. Everyone's agenda is to get re-elected. None of them want to address the root causes of the problems.

VMAN "It is nobody's business what a group of people does with a building on their private land."
:rolleyes

Substitute a Walmart for the mosque and you know what, all the libbies would crawl out of their holes and suddenly find an issue with property rights and a grievance against evil free market use of private lands as they've done before with Walmart, Starbucks..etc. Crushing the little guy arguement right... but when the little guy is the majority of America who's politely asking for common decency and respect near our sacrosanct place of pain brought on by Islam, libbies take the other side. Asking Muslims to simply build their victory Mosque in another area isn't denying them anything, they still have the ability to build a mosque, just not there.

Actually, there are expemptions in city planning codes for religious buildings such as churches, synagogues, temples and mosques, so the Wal Mart/Starbucks analogy would not apply.

(I would have no problem with a Wal Mart in that area but I don't think it is a spot where they would do a ton of business and the area doens't fit their business model. Lower Manhattan already has more than it's fair share of Starbucks, I don't think anybody would notice another one :laughing)

Facts, their like kryptonite to a hysterical "conservative" :twofinger

And either way, building this proposed gay bar would be a waste of money as it probably wouldn't be a very fun one and would have no business.

Please describe for us what happens at a fun gay bar...

:laughing

Well, it would have to have a good atmosphere and fun party people. I've been to several in SF that were fun, even for a strait guy like me.

I doubt a gay bar (or any bar for that matter) built out of spite would any fun at all. The focus would be on sticking it to the neighbors and not on making the bar a cool place to hang out.
