I love the DOOM games (except for the unfortunate 2004 iteration) and this last one is just absolutely totally awesome. What stood out the most to me though was actually the music. DOOM music has always been kinda famous and I'm pretty sure everyone who has ever played a video game before knows the E1M1 opening riff. However this time around Bethesda hired this insane Aussie Mick Gordon to do all the music... it's really quite fantastic. I've got it on my playlist pretty much all the time. Nothing like busting out some BFG Division while tidying up.

Good stuff!

One day I will get a PS4 and play this new Doom.

Still playing the shit out of the 1990's Doom on my PS3 though. I was playing it the other day and stumbled across a secret map I didn't know existed, almost sharted. :p

Like you said, that E1M1 riff from back in the day, it's so famous.

I'll build you a PC that's more powerful than a PS4 for $400 lol

ps4 has its purpose. I opted instead to get doom16 for PC and have zero regrets. They did a hell of a job.

I thought this thread was going to be about the metal face villain.
I am disappoint.

Really? Specs?

Depends, I could build a $400 PC 50 different ways and end up with roughly the same performance. Here's a great example of a $400 PC, and that's all NEW parts. I mostly buy used stuff myself and re-use old parts. I have like a $2000 PC that cost about $800 with both new and used parts..

Monitors can be expensive but if you already have a nice TV you can just hook it up to that through HDMI, DVI, or DisplayPort (My fave) and you can play with a controller on your couch.

Oh yeah and games are WAY CHEAPER

Fake video, just showed some guy sitting in a chair. Did not show him wasting hours of his life dealing with software drivers that are incompatible, won't install or el cheapo connectors that fail. :p

Right, and that's why you have someone who likes building PCs do it, because we're secretly masochists.

My latest build had only ONE issue and that was that Windows really hates it when you put the same OS partition on a new motherboard, and I solved that after 15 minutes on google. Everything else was totally fine. I did end up having an issue with drivers because the newest nVidia drivers for my card defaulted to DX11.2. Any game I had that had DX11.2 enabled wouldn't run. All I did was update Win7 with a service pack and it worked fine, and that only occurred because I manually disabled all windows updates (cos I was afraid it would force me to get Win10 or something, and boy was I right).

doom 16 is sweet,

multiplayer is very lacking vs the original dooms

i play on the PC and have always for this series

oh and the original doom 90's song reminded me of 8bit teenage mutant ninja turtles on nes
