I think Jon Stewart usually sucks (panders to retards, uses 4 seconds of a soundbite to ridicule/take shit out of context), but he has a really good point here. The reasonable "silent majority" among us are sick of extremist, fearmongering idiots. All one hears nowadays is the blabbering morons on the extreme left/right.

Fine, I'm a retard. But who else REALLY shows the stupidity of both sides of the political coin, and the media? If you've ever listened to some of his longer interviews with the various people, he actually does a decent job. And yet, keeps it entertaining with a laugh throughout. A few times he's gotten "all up in" the guests' shit, which you would never see other than the usual monkeys with an agenda, such as Hannity and O'Rielly, who are just contrary for effect. And on that, I love that he HATES Fox, as I would like just about anyone based solely on that!

Funny... I think Jon Stewart is one of the few social commentators with an apparent memory longer than that of a gnat.

Yes, but I think most everyone understands he's taking them out of context. At least for me, the takeaway is humor and not political messages. :)

I just booked my airline ticket to go there. I have free lodging at a friend's place outside of DC and am turning it into a 3 day weekend (leave Wed night, come back Sat night). Seems like he is going to get a lot more people than he anticipates as I actually talked to someone else today who is also considering flying for this! Jon Stewart "sucks" to me as a "comedian." I don't find hand gestures, sudden yelling or his stupid facial expressions (for example, where he dips his head and then swerves to look at a side camera) to be funny.

Right, he is liberally minded, hates Fox News, etc. I get that. He goes over the top however with his criticism, which makes him look as biased as those he criticizes (in a recent show, he ridiculed the use of 3-second clips by others in the media to distort a position....pot/kettle????).

To recap, I think he is a bore who panders to monkeys who gobble his shit up like flung feces. That said, I like his "common sense" rally.
