Turns out I just inherited a 1957 210 Four door Chevy. Because this will never be a high dollar car, The body style isn't that desirable and it isn't a numbers matching original, the sky's (and more realistically my budget) is the limit when it comes to playing with it.

The fun part is it has a 350 CID engine out of a 1970 Chevelle. I now find myself day dreaming about a 383 stoker crank, different cam profiles, dropped spindles, paint schemes and all other manner of "car guy" stuff.

Really this is a shock. Never thought I would be into classic or muscle cars and now I find myself getting stoked on the thought of playing around with this thing. Weird. Camaros are still ugly

My neighbor has an original '56 four door. It looks great and sometimes they use it to tow their bikes to the track.

Have fun with your project.

Do it up Panamericana style or leave the patina and make it a running time capsule. :party

There is a thought. It would be fun to slap some stickers on it and drive it home from Pennsylvania kinda like this. The current paint inst original either so not much of a loss to change it up.

Yep, just make it mechanically sound and drive the heck out of it. It's a pretty amazing experience to drive classic iron around in public.

Man that's the best part. I work and pick up kids from school withing a 10 mile radius of my house. Daily driver potential is written all over this thing.

Thanks Dave, I haven't figured out transport yet. I would like to get it out here this summer. If you think you need to come back here round then we can work something out. $/trailer.

I need to pick up my Chrysler that's in California, but I doubt I'm doing the driving this go-round. It'll be ready in a week, and I sure won't be.

Only thing I'd really urge is to get the paperwork sorted before you sink any money into it. Nothing like restoring a car only to find out it can't be registered/it's stolen/etc.

That's awesome Mike! If you like money, you'll hate that car. Ask Billswim...years ago, a $19K charger was a "can't miss deal". I missed...and I'm buried in the thing.

Grandma signed the title over already so I think I'm in the clear but yeah, DMV clearance is step one. All the running gear is pre 1975 so I don't think SMOG will be an issue. The odometer shows 38k miles so I think I'm OK with bringing it in from out of state too.

Berto, the potential for a money pit is ever present with wheels. It's not too far off from being a driver so if anything it should be a slow drain on my wallet. I'm OK with that.
