Now, would you say that I was genuinely attacking the guy or would you say I was more in a state of SHOCK AND AWE that this bike was roached up one side?

I mean, I ribbed him... but I think a good deal of individuals here are under the impression that I was literally holding the guy down and urinating on him while pouring sugar in his gas tank.

On the ride home from work this evening even -I- was beginning to think maybe I went over the top in all of this.

Then I had to wiggle my bike past this as they were trying to extract some very obviously injured passengers from a very crushed black SUV that was on it's roof.

Well couldn't get on with life until I posted in this legendary thread.

I too laughed at the irony of how the bike got its booboo. The owner just needs to park amongst the other 80+ bikes so only the purdy side is showing.

PS has anyone sent this into J-Leno yet?

I drove past that one myself.

Once I got past the merge, traffic was still slow while everyone gawked. I guess it's a good thing no one could hear me curse under my helmet.

I think the problem that people, like myself, are having with this is the attitude towards this guy. Here's a guy that spent a lot of money on a rare piece of motorcycling history and made a bad decision on how to get it home. Hindsight is 20/20...I'm sure he'll never let that happen again. In comes the "professional road racer" who implies that this guy somehow deserves the misfortune because of the car he drives, the trailer he uses(which is more than adequate for hauling a motorcycle around) and the decision he made. This guy was a complete stranger to you, but you made it a point to take him down a notch or two then have a big public laugh about his misfortune. This was a not a friend who pulled a stupid stunt that you are having friendly little jabs with. It's really kind of mean and spiteful. Just because nobody was physically hurt does not make it ok to drag this guy through the dirt. What's next? Shall we all laugh and take pictures of the people losing their homes because of a bad decision when choosing a loan? There's plenty of them out there. Better grab your camera...

Chief, you missed the point. :thumbup Moike didn't start really ribbing the guy until he asked him to take a picture of the other side...which is probably one of the vainest things i've ever heard. :laughing

We're a little too PC these days..."Don't hurt his feelings, don't squash his beautiful flower"...fuck that. Maybe someone making fun of him will teach him to value his possessions a little more, and take the time to go pick up his 75k bike himself. That way at least he can be the one who dumps it.

You're missing the criticism by a long mile. It's not that the Duc owner got laughed at it's your *hypocrisy. Don't poke fun at Harleys because you say so, don't poke fun at scooters because you say so, don't say anything about clubs because you say so. But it's ok to poke fun with pictures of a stranger and trash his lifestyle WHICH NO ONE KNOWS ANYTHING ABOUT because you say so. You can type paragragh after paragraph justifying yourself and that won't erase the fact that you don't practice what you preach.
