I want to buy pot.....60qt aluminum crock pot

KAMEI.
Clement between 6th & 7th. Best prices, ever. They carry a wide range of quality - from cheap Chinese stuff to name brand items (best price for Bodum products, hands down). Seriously, go there.

Last thing I bought was a giant stainless bowl. I chose the cheaper Chinese one (~$35?) because it had a lip so I could lift it, which is more important than steel thickness when you have 20 pounds of potato salad, haha.

That's just the pot itself....I'd also need a strainer basket and a lid...that'll add on another 40-50ish....

That's why is easier/cheaper (usually) to buy as a set...Cheapest I've found so far...
Gotcha. I think its a good deal, frankly, considering the price of metal these days and the fact that many people pay that for smaller frypans and such...but I understand the cheap imperative if at all possible. I;d probably want to hold it in my hand to check the handle quality.

More than likely, I'm just going to check out that Kamei place.....if I cant find it there...Amazon it is....:dunno

Crawfish Boil! :twofinger

You do batches in a 40 qt pot all day for that sort of thing, or at least until you pass out. Dump 'em out on the newspaper on the picnic table as you go.

You don't need to get too nutty with the vessel size.

Something like beer has to be done all at once, though.

:teeth

are you getting it, so that you have a pot to piss in ?

If you can't find it you'll need to move out of SF, because it's a block off of Geary!

A 60 quart aluminum stock pot, to be exact.

So, basically, i'm looking for a 60 quart stock pot, lid, and basket. I've checked google, amazon, ebay, etc...and the going rate seems to be about $90-$120 for the combo. Personally (granted I haven't been in the market for such things very long or often), those numbers seem a bit steep to me. After all, isn't it just a sheet of aluminum?

So, if any of you fine people can point me in the right direction for a better bargain (or confirm that 90-120 is, in fact, what I will be spending), I would greatly appreciate it! :thumbup

Just curious since nobody asked, what the heck do you plan to cook in this thing?
