I've been calling dealerships all over trying to buy a Mazda Protoge' 5 and today I decided to run over to Safeway at lunch with my coworker/buddy.

Well, on the way to Safeway we pass Redwood City Mazda and he said "Stop there you idiot". I said- "I'll check it out on the way back from Safeway".

So we go to Safeway and this jerk kept putting Depends, and Tampons in my basket!!!!:laughing

He's an a-hole!!!!

I then would tell the Safeway employeess, to "Please check his pockets- he's been stealing vasoline again".:laughing

I saw the nice lady in the deli dept, and the first thing I said to her was; "I'm very sorry for my friend's behavior yesterday, he is depressed because his boyfriend left him".:laughing

She LHAO!!!! BTW- he and I are in our mid-forties,,,,,, going on 15 y/o.

Well, after pestering the Safeway folks, we start heading back to work and he yells at me to "STOP at the Mazda dealership you idiot"!!!

I go in and look at a Mazda6 Sport Wagon (for two minutes MAX.) fully frickin loaded and I talk the guy down from $17,300 to $13,300 in a matter of 4 minutes. I said "SOLD, type up the contract really fast, because I'm on my lunch break... oh and detail it and fill it up with gas for me too". :laughing

I brought the completed contract to my Credit Union and walked out with a check. I now am the proud owner of a 2004 Mazda Sport Wagon with 212 hp!!!!!

Thank You all for all of your help and advice!!!!

Jesus H., I thought my dad was the only one still rolling one of those - he had a copper 1984 GT loaded. The dealership gave him $100 for a trade in on a Saturn last month. He paid $13,500 for the Celica brand new. (That's like 30K in today's dollars) Only has 213K miles on it! I told him, damn, I would have given you $100 for that thing, LOL.

Congrats on your purchase, Lefty! :cool

Man my '85 celica was sweet. Once. I remember doing body work on that car, looking through the body and seeing my father working on the gaping hole on the other side. Yeah, we fabricated the rocker panel out of aluminum rain gutter. sweeeeeet. I got #850 bucks for it, too! How much do you want for the last of the RWD celicas?
