Is a Costco membership worth it for a single guy?

I still have the stupid people that try to cut you off in the aisle like it was a race. I've had to tell a few people to cool it down a bit the last couple times I've gone.

members at Costco think it is a race. sad commentary about society there

we have membership at Costco, but we have not visited recently during SIP because of the scarcity mentality there

Before the SIP I would just pretend that I didn't see them and then plow my cart straight into theirs :laughing

Yes Hot Dog and soda for a buck fifty. Same size and same quality.
With the Social distancing there is no sit down dining.

Noticed Costco here doesn't sell the cook at home Pizza in the Bakery.

Went to Costco yesterday.
Minimal lines. No issues. People being people.
Picked up a 13 lb packer Prime brisket for $3.59 lb.
It'll be in the smoker on Sunday.

13 lbs of brisket :laughing

If you had to stereotype Costco, there it is.

Nah, I can get a packer at Safeway. They just don't keep it in the case.
Costco has the best price and I get to claw through the pile looking for the one that has my name on it.
Briskets are sold as flats, 2-5 lbs or packers 10-15 lbs. Flats are what you generally see in the meat case at the grocery store. Flats are cut from a packer.

yea not denying the value, it just seems like alot of digested red meat to be pushing out your butt hole! :laughing

So I hear Costco is now limiting each customer to 3 items each? So what, 1 pack of chicken, another pack of short ribs and 1 pack of marinated ribs? Does this include seafood, canned items like spam, or pre-cooked chicken?

Bruh... you don’t sound like you do bbq. One person does not down a brisket in a sitting or three.

A properly smoked brisket is amazing and takes a substantial amount of time to cook. And you don’t buy it in 1/2lb cuts.

this. i used to smoke a brisket almost every weekend. I'd enjoy it myself but also give out and share the love of a central texas style brisket to my friends and family. i made a 15lb packer for the superbowl last year and it evaporated with not that many people attending.

If you haven't had it, you need to try it. I love opening up my california people to TX style bbq, it's divine.

Ive matured but was a time when I'd get kick out of adding items to someone's cart when they were distracted. Only to those deserving of such attention.

I used to cut the shoplift prevention tags off items and slip 'em into someone's purse. :laughing

One of my daughter's volleyball teammates had a grandfather she lived with who smoked meat every weekend. It was incredibly good to eat!

I'd never personally put in the time to do it, it's very time consuming and there are other things that give me pleasure to do (like coaching track, spending 24 hours at a track meet on many weekends), but I can 100% appreciate that some enjoy doing it.
