It’s likely you already being forced to use LLMs. Google search, Siri, and search on major software like searching in MacOS, Windows, or email platforms - using LLMs or at least implementing it. I also just read that New Orleans is going to start using an LLM for their 911, which is super forced.

I suspect what you are describing will apply to the shitty LLMs. Those will die and we’ll slowly stop noticing the “good” ones. Survivorship bias will kinda take over.

I mean, that's maybe what the LLM will avoid. It'll "help" you immediately because it's software. You get triaged by the LLM. It decides you are fine and it hangs up. 911 operators already need to do this. I wonder what the LLM success rate will be.
 
No. AI is slowly turning into the machine race from The Matrix. For proof, set Claude to arguing with Cursor, or Gemini to arguing with NemoClaw. We're on the cusp of AI starting to replicate itself and achieve self-awareness.
 
I strongly doubt that LLMs will achieve self-awareness.

one definition of insanity is doing the same thing over and over again, and expecting a different result. using that definition, LLMs are insane.

You know I had a crazy ass nightmare where the government was using peoples phones to force intrusive thoughts into peoples minds and pushing them to commit acts of violence. Oh wait, social media does that already.
