Is holding hands in public important part of a relationship..?

Sure, touching your partner in public is fun. In ways such as holding hands, arm around shoulder, hugging, kissing...it's affectionate, and quite the aphrodisiac. :teeth
 
Things like that are important to females remember they think differently from men. They are emotional creatures so holding hands has a deep meaning to them better get on board or get used to being alone. men are more logical so it seems pointless and juvenile but its an important part of a relatioship to ladies. And if you want to be involved in a symbiotic relatioship you need to cultivate the proper behavior to nurture and cultivate the development of that relationship. Wow I think I just had Doctor Phil moment I better stop watching that stuff before i turn into a pansy.

It also shows them that you are there in the moment with them. You're not just walking down the sidewalk, you're walking with her. It can add meaning and intimacy to even the most mundane of tasks. It also communicates to others, and especially to her, that she is yours and you're proud to be the one holding her hand.

It's also so minor, if it's a big deal to her, chalk it up as an easy way to make her happy. If it really creeps you out and bothers you, you two might just be on the wrong page.

It's also a way to maintain physical intimacy in public.

Shit, I'm pretty introverted and conservative, and yet on the first day I ever kissed someone, I was kissing her all over the place, including downtown SF sidewalks.

I'm guessing maybe you think PDA is not "manly" or something, but IMO it actually makes you MORE of a man, because it proves to everyone that you are with someone who finds you attractive.
