Is it a Duck?

Thanks, I don't get the point of them posting a comment then. Seems kind of stupid to me. :thumbdown

A bit of advice. Everyone here likes to break eachothers balls. If you can't brush stuff off and have a sense of humor its not gonna be much fun here for you. Especially if you're new and you instantly have an attitude, no one is going to like you. Which would suck cause after a while its nice to meet some of the people here in person. Tl:dr is about as tame as its gonna get.

It's BARF. People tend to post their thoughts whether necessary/required or not.

Why you trying to hurt the OP's feelings? :teeth:party

Just kidding (j/k), welcome Original Poster (op), try not to get too much sand up yer vag and have fun. It's not that we don't care what you have to say, we don't care what anyone has to say. Except Budman, he owns this place and is a super nice dude. He is the one and only exception, everyone else is lame.

Lmgtfy.com is your friend. Me, I'm not sure.

I read OPs post, but didn't get what he's saying. LE MCs (whatever LE stands for) are dicks? Is that what he's saying?

Personally, the people I ride with tend to not be MC members (I think). Unless they're undercover MC members. Is that a thing?

LE = Law Enforcement, yes they do have their own badass motorcycle clubs.

It's likely the reason those guys because cops in the first place. To puff their chest out and act hard with a badge to hide behind.
I kind of thought the same thing.

I thought there would be ducatis in this thread :(
I could see how you thought that, with the title having Duck in it. Sorry for the let down! :teeth

I know I read a lot of the threads, seems more then others get their balls busted.
OP:

The answer is yes.
Yes? Huh? :confused

Dude.

Really?

:p

Kool name I know! :teeth

Thanks for the warm welcome! :thumbup
I understand that some are going to bust my balls, some don't really give a you know what about this thread and are just going to have fun with it. In life you gotta laugh! Also there are going to be some that probably were thinking the same thing! Either way I plan to have lots of fun in this place and even bust a few balls myself! :rofl

It's a good way to pass time at work, get a few laughs and even learn something!

LE have badges. Thats the end of the differences between them other MCs or citizens. They aren't elite gods and have just as many bad apples in their ranks as youll find in any random cross section of society.

I'd argue and say there's less bad apples than a cross section of society; Simply because of the extensive hiring process and background which weeds out roughly 99% of people who apply.

Nope. The hiring process is based on a wholly arbitrary set of criteria which are designed to get rid of a certain kind of bad apple. Police work, by its very nature, attracts people who like to tell others what to do (this is not inherently bad or even undesirable), and straight-up bullies (this is bad).

The trouble is, the pushy personality can go bad pretty easily, especially in an environment that is a combination of absolute power and dehumanizing bureaucracy, and many of the bullies who get to be old enough to apply to PDs, are, by that time, pathological personalities who are very good at hiding their nature.

Am I cop bashing? Not trying to. Most cops are good people wanting to do the right thing, but again, it's a profession that is attractive to a lot of people you don't want anywhere near it, and it's pointless to say that some arbitrary set of criteria does anything other than get A: arbitrarily, and often illogically, reduce the number of candidates the recruiters have to deal with, and B: get rid of the most blatantly not-qualified.

You seem to have it all figured out. :thumbup

Nope. I'm just occasionally good at seeing through the obviously wrong traditional explanations for things. But hey, if you don't want to discuss it, fine by me.

It's been discussed, and no I'm not interested. :)

Given my well known love of motorcycles around das vater cooler :rolleyes...

I was recruited by a LE Club. (Blue Knights)

The recruiter's pitch involved speeding all day and not getting tickets. :thumbdown

Lame.

I prefer a loose association of like minded folks :)barf) over an entity that tries to leverage preferential treatment through either intimidation and fear (Outlaw 1% types) or some other social tier or privilege.

:2cents

So I was told by a buddy of mine about this forum so I spent most of the day checking it out and reading new an old
2. Most members on here hate HD's

3. Most members on here think that all MC members are thugs, criminals or gangsters.[/B]

of the Watchmen LE.
Most entertaining thread. Thanks, o.p.

When I first read this "MC members", I thought you were talking about male "members", and I was a bit confused and worried about the large contingency of lady riders on barf being left holding, well, nothing.

Could you just say motorcycle club and law enforcement or cops, next time. You type very well. I am sure you could type the whole name one time. Thanks.

A lot of barfers own/have owned Harleys. You might be surprised.
Ride on. :newbie
