Is our economy still teh suck or just less sucky but no better

Yeah-that's assuming one person working and a car payment. Some of those 200k house are three families-you can rent the other floors out for more than your mortgage.

I maintain cost of living is why so many Californians live in such a beautiful area and are just so miserable-they can't afford shit other than bitching about what other people are doing and the wolf is always at the door.

I feel as if we're swaying from the topic here, how many roommates one has has nothing to do with the wage he makes being considered high or not. Or it shouldn't anyways

by standard definition a high wage job is a job that pays greater than 25% the median average in the location.

I don't have one and you are welcome to do the research yourself

Every state actually defines high wage differently, did you know most states offer a tax incentive to companies that pay a "high wage"

but on average it's the 75th percentile or 25% higher than the median wage for the state.

keep digging than

you will see the IRS conflicts itself regularly :laughing

oh and executive pay and NIIT aren't included in the definition :rolleyes

meh, don't really care that much. I just don't think 21 an hour is turning any heads anywhere in the country. I think qualifying for a "high wage" should have more disposable income than 1000 dollars a month with zero savings. Just one mans opinion.

agreed but making 90k in the bay area nets you the same result

and you don't even own a home :laughing

Silicon Valley is special. Our economy is like no other.

Things are going nuts at work right now, dispite lack of a clear energy policy.

Thanks Obama :twofinger
