Is there really no thread about naked gunman shooting up a Waffle House?

Enforce the existing laws. Would have prevented this one. The father has blood on his hands here too.

Yes, I agree the father has blood on his hands. It's not clear to me what law was not enforced that would have prevented this.

This is the face of a very brave man.

That Man will be getting sooooo much tail!!!!

A true hero. Did you hear him at the press conference- he is BEYOND humble!!!

What a great man. (I wonder if he was loitering?)

No biggie.

Btw I'm a tree hugging liberal, hardly a 2nd amendment cheerleader.

yeah, misread completely... I'll get my head in the game.

+1 His actions saved many lives that day. Should have free food at Waffle House for life. (not sure that is a good thing.)

Reinking was arrested in July in a restricted area near the White House.

Authorities seized his weapons after the arrest, but Reinking's father later returned them to his son, according to multiple reports.

This is probably illegal.

This is not the time to talk about gun control : |

What do you mean? This is perfect gun control. Guy with no weapon slams guy with ar-15 style weapon and controls his gun.

It’s also not a real news story cause someone with no training was able to take out a shooter with his bare hands and nothing else. Can’t let the media roll with that.

:rolleyes

Quite evidently the "hero"/Not-a-hero had some wrestling and football training.

And hid in the bathroom until the shooter paused....... that might have had something to do with his success. You don't need to be an ex-football player to rush someone by surprise.

Guy did very well though. Scratch that, he did awesome. He was cornered.
Not sure about grabbing the heated part detail.. he was close enough to grab other things, but-- hopefully there's a pic of his hand without a bandage.
It was probably in the heat of the moment thought obviously

Glad there was a person there who was willing and able to end it, regardless of the particulars.

I have read more than eight stories so far, from a wide variety of sources. None that I've found are clear on whether the shooter had any convictions or adjudications that would have prevented him from legally possessing a firearm in Tennessee. A couple state that his Illinois FOID had been revoked but not why or for how long. None have stated that his father actually returned tbem. Important details to get straight before any effective remedies for the future can be formulated. (If I've missed stories with those details I'd be grateful for a heads up.)

Nothing so far seems to be working and the incidents seem to be like variations on a theme. Crazy person harms others- see story for exciting details!

My apologies if I seem flabbergasted and numb. I met today with a group of folks I've known for years from the shooting range at Laguna Seca. We planned this get together to talk about the Florida shooting. They range from target shooters to hunters to die hard Second Amendment to preppers. When some of them bring up door to door confiscation and aren't jumped on as being ignorant or traitors or whatever it's a big change.

Is not giving it to a family member in this scenario a law already on the books, or something that needs to be added?
