does anybody have any 240sx or rx7 or similar car of any year for sale? I need one again!

^^ you want my old 89 hatchback with 300k miles?

still runes like a fucking champ but got a little body damage. rear fender and rear bumper got some creases nothing some over fenders and a new rear bumper couldnt fix!

secured a VLSD R200 from a R33 for my S2k. Hopefully the VLSD isn't worn yet since I'm not ready to swap in a Quaife/Kaaz yet. I do like that the FD ratio is 4.36 opposed to the 4.08 from the 300zx or the 3.6X from the J30. :) zippy around town while i retain the 240bhp or so.

i hear either vlsd either are really good or really bad.

not much inbetween so you should know pretty quick.

watch out for shimmed ones!

Missed my kouki so much.

heard the same thing and looked into it more, they said that even when the VLSD fails it's still reliable for putting around at least. It just won't have the benefits of LSD anymore when the viscous clutches(not sure if thats what they are) can't hold together anymore at temperature. That's when the Quaife mechanical unit comes in, which is insane but get this.. The Quaife unit offers a lifetime warranty for all use INCLUDING RACE APPLICATIONS That won me over, if a company is willing to stand behind their product in abuse applications, I'll gladly pay for it.

if i could put any front end in the world on my s13 it would be a s14 kouki!!!!!!!!!

or odyssey

i was never a fan of the convertible. hatchback FTW and coupe is alright.. :p

This year, it looks like I'll be building or getting an EG6 (Honda Civic HB from 1992-1995?) to drive to track days....Part of my "Bucket List" declaration.

Anyone know much about these?

I was invited to go the WekFest this past sunday..though they are show cars.

they're a run of the mill honda proven to be capable of doing hella hundreds of thousands of miles. and if anything breaks, suffers catastrophic engine failure, etc. it's still just a civic and you'll get most of your value back selling it for scrap. :p

an EG is a 92-95 HB...pretty fun car to beat around in....the few times i worked on one, i managed to create some fireworks in the engine bay...ergo, i stay the fuck away from electrical stuff...ahaha (we forgot to take the battery out before working on the car...i was working on the suspension and the wrench his the battery nodes which led to sparks flying everywhere...so anything that can zap i stay the hell away from)

easy car to work with...pretty sure some integra parts are swappable with the EG like any other Honda...ahaha

Had a 92 EG hatch , it pretty much flip flopped my hatred for FWD cars. (I had to spin it once or twice before I understood them) It had tokico springs/struts , type R rear arms , GSR wheels and a few other handling bits. Pretty slow with the stock motor but it was ridiculously fun to drive in the twisties and especially fun in rain. (lol lift off oversteer) For a beater fun car I can barely think of anything better , parts are EVERYwhere. Only issue I really had was worrying about the thing disappearing all the time. If you have somewhere to hide the thing a b18 or K20 swap would make a very fun and fast track car.

Ya, I do have a garage that it will be in.....They are still a Theft item? Wow. Well, my plans is to do a B series over a K series due to ease and cost. There is this video that shows how fast those track civics are where they DRIVE to buttonwillow and Drive home! I like that!

that got me very inspired

consider the H series, in essence a big B series. Aside from the mounts, everything's the same but suited for bigger displacement. If you want to keep a favorable short-gear setup, you can do an H2B setup (H-series motor to a B series transmission). Axles you can get custom or you can mix inner/outters im sure.

I'm actually still experimenting with my H22 that I had lying around (all my preludes and FWD hondas are gone), but if measurements come out correctly, i'll report back with a very stout combination of a frankenstein H22 motor.

I'm attempting to address the H-series' achilles' heel which is the piston/piston ringlands. Attempting to fit S2000 pistons (forged FRM compatible pistons) into the H22. Only issue is that the S2k motors spin the opposite direction, and the wrist pins may be at different areas. We'll see how it all measures out. :)

I think that is pretty much more advanced than I want to handle currently because IF I do break something, isn't easier just to find the replacement parts?

Yeah, that video is very inspiring. I don't have a Honda, but I do have a '92 Sentra SE-R that has been woefully neglected. The worst is that all it really needs is a tune-up. Maybe it's time to get back out to the track.

well, that's if you go with the "H2B" kit, there's the normal H22 kit which I think currently has more support/spares/etc. available than the B series in terms of engine/transmission/drivetrain parts. H22A1, H22A, H22A4, H23A1, F20B, F22A1, F22B2, F23A1, and a handful of other engines are direct bolt-in because they share the same cylinder block casting.

Depending on what you want out of the motor and what the motor's destined for, different motors have their own advantages. And the fun part is that the cylinder heads all more-or-less swap back and forth too! :teeth

I gotta stop getting ahead of myself, I just spent 15 minutes on craigslist looking for CRX/EG hatches :rofl
