Jidaigeki, Chambara, Wuxia, Martial Arts, Kung Fu... MOVIES

There's also this Korean flick "Legend of the Shadowless Sword" and it's available on iTunes. It reminds me of the anime "Fist of the North Star" where people explode from crazy internal punches.

Picked this up just before Christmas:

I have many Zatoichi DVDs previous to this but not all 25. Comes with cool, uniquely illustrated bound little book which fits right in the case. :teeth

Maiden: "Zatoichi, there are so many swordsman, do you not fear for your life?"
Zatoichi: "Is a blindman afraid of snakes" ?

Not sure Anime fits in.

Sorry, meant Kung-Fu Anime to be specific, no sailor moon, sorry Tux :laughing

Koi,

Given the time that has elapsed: about a week time since your post, I can think of one, or two depending on how technical one gets, martial arts anime that I watched and enjoyed: Dragon Ball. I was living in Hong Kong at the time, early 90s and used to watch this on TV. There was also Dragon Ball Z but since I lost track of what was going on at the end of Dragon Ball... didn't get what was going on with Dragon Ball Z.

I did refer to Goku calling out to nature during a fight with Vegeta in an essay I was writing for my Taichi class at Ohlone though. <<< Did that on Glacier Point at YNP (Yosemite National Park) in Dec 2011 : very cool !! One CAN feel the "qi" of those old pine trees at Glacier Point looking out towards Half Dome !!

My ex, who's a Japanese National knows the in's and out's of both of these from reading the printed version of the animes themselves before it was made into TV productions.

I think you can get both on Netflix. Am not subscribed to Netflix as we speak so.... Abyss, could you confirm this?

Just to put this in there, Man Of Steel was basically the best Dragon Ball Movie ever made. So much fun and needles property destruction. lol.
