have we covered Kove's Dakar 450, yet?

"For 2024, Kove doesn’t just want to finish Dakar. They’re in it to win it, and their weapon of choice will be the upgraded Kove 450 Rally EX they showed off at EICMA ... A new engine pushes the limits of the 450 class with a 449.9 cc displacement, making 65 horsepower and 36.14 lb-ft of torque, significantly more than the previous Dakar racer, with a top speed of 112 mph."

"The 450 Rally EX stands out with its lightweight build, weighing just 282 pounds dry. This reduction in weight, achieved through the use of materials like magnesium alloy, titanium, and carbon fiber, significantly boosts the bike's agility and responsiveness."

Moto Morini partnered with a Chinese company a few years back to make scooters and smaller displacement motos, but they seem to be upping their game with their EICMA intros. Bigger engines, bigger bikes, designed in Italy and manufactured in China.

Revived Italian brand Moto Morini has unveiled not one but FOUR all-new big bike models – the X-Cape 1200, Milano 1200, Corsaro 750 and Corsaro sport.

The two new 1200cc V-twins sees the return of the historic brand to the liter class category it hasn’t occupied since the demise of the last, limited-edition Milano 1200 in 2020, which failed to meet 2021’s Euro5 regulations.

While I doubt they'll make it to the US, I do like the standard/cruiser look of the Milano. What I am not sold on is the Chinese part of the manufacture process, but I know they are constantly improving their build quality, so we shall see.

Well... they look nice. Italian flair in full view.

I think the Chinese brands had some of the more exciting designs at the show.
The others should know they are now on notice and give us something more than "BNG!"

Well, so far I'm content with my Chinese BMW. Not sure how much is made there, just the motor and assembled in Europe?

More on the Kove.

If you want to farkle up your Ténéré, Yamaha is offering a choice of GYTR kits...

Three kits are available, each designed to turn the twin into ‘a true competition motorcycle with higher engine performance and a chassis tuned to deliver true rally capabilities.’ Or you can combine all three ‘to create the ultimate Ténéré 700 World Raid’. The Performance kit comprises a GYTR rally seat and footrest set, high performance GYTR ECU, billet clutch cover, Akrapovic full titanium exhaust and air filter kit.

The Handling kit replaces the stock wheels and suspension with race-specification Haan wheels using Excel rims, race-developed, longer stroke, 48mm KYB forks plus billet triple clamps, a fully adjustable steering damper plus fully adjustable Paioli shock.

While the Rally kit takes things further still with large-capacity fuel tanks, rally handlebars and screen, allowing the fitment of road book instruments, performance headlights and all the components required for competitive rally raids.
