Just heard (from the bicyclists) that The Junction (del puerto/mines road) is closing it's doors. I didn't always stop there, but it's sad nonetheless. Bad times for small businesses, I guess.

NOoooooo. They had yummy fries on a cold day

This sucks!

Damnzzzzz, I sure hope that isn't true!!! That totally SUCKS!!!
I was just up there on Monday evening, try to get up there at least twice a month and would always make it a point to stop in and say "hi" and have the pulled pork sammie with "o" rings or the buffalo burger.
If its true riding Mines just won't be the same. Double :(

I'm still hoping it's not true also. . . .I don't know the source, just spreading internet rumors.

I love that place and hope they will hang in there! I was just there this past Monday and the place was bangin'. I enjoy riding MT Hammy to Mines as it is a great time ... but I always look forward to the mid way lunch at the Junction to add to the greatness factor of the ride.

Awww, man... The Junction has always been one of the things that made Mines Rd great. I really hope it doesn't close. If it does it'll leave a Junction sized hole in my heart. And a burger sized hole in my stomach :(

The Junction > Alice's. Thus will suck royally if true.
Yep; next time you guys (you know who you are) bypass The Junction to do Jack-in-the-Box in Patterson have helped The Junction go under. ("oh it's greasy food!") Gimme a break...

For years I've stressed to lots of riders to keep the place in business by at least stopping by & buying a soda pop (or better lunch/dinner.) Alas I don't know how many hundreds of times I watched people bypass The Junction to go to Patterson for fast food. Sux man.

The Junction has been a favorite food/drink stop of mine EVERY time I was on Mines for over 40 years. I've been going there since ~78' & I'd hate to see it go away. :(

edit: Del Porteo Canyon Road was gravel back then.....it was Mines to Mt. Hamilton only. So The Junction was the only stop mid-way along a ride. :)

http://thejunctionbarandgrill.com/ they open at 10 am. I will call Steve and find out if it is true and post up.

the problem with the junction is the real owners know how much money it makes, so they set the lease up so you fail. but that is all hear say. NOT from steve but other locals

it is still there stop in say HI to Steve and Pam. they are the best people! the junction has not been this good in the 20 years I have been going there!

Save the junction have a beer!

Boo. We should get groups together and ride out there to show some support!

They won't get much traffic until the weather warms up and clears up. The fair weather riders/drivers won't come out until it's nice out.

The ride won't be the same without them there. I stop and get a burger each time I go pass there.

Agreed. Must find more people that ride in the rain/crappy stuff.

...i will roll out there. i can probably get some folks not on barf(riders, not the fair weather sort) to roll out too....
