If you look at the moon, there is a bright spot on top of it.

This is Jupiter.

It is supposed to be visibile since mid marche but today is one of the brightest day. Beautiful..

Enjoy!

Where's the guy always taking pictures of the moon at? We need details!

From earlier this year. Sorry bout the size. :laughing
I'm imaging right now, but target is a pair of galaxies.

Last year, I recall being able to see Venus, Mars, Saturn and Jupiter all at the same time. Fortunately, Uranus is too far away. :twofinger

Way cool!

FWIW, if you sign up for email at the RFO they'll send you a monthly newsletter with this month's goings on in the sky.

Good idea.
I personnel use the app Sky Guide, which is augmented reality. You point your phone to the sky, in any direction and it shows you which stars/planets are visible (with or without telescope).

The app costs $4.99 but this is totally worth it if you like astronomy, or want to start getting into it.

dmaxAI, your pic is amazing. Did you do it with the sony? What's your gear?

Google Sky Map does the same thing and it's free :thumbup

I tried it, but I prefer sky guide: I find the information more complete, and the UX is better IMO.

But yeah, if you just want to try, I guess it's enough :).

I might have to give sky guide a look. Is there a trial version?

Yes there is (on the apple App Store at least). Enjoy.

We should maybe have some star gazing meetup!

I have one of those apps as well. The beauty of the newsletter is that it gives you a heads up of what's going to happen. Cool for things like when a planet is going to be near the moon, say, or when the meteor showers are at their peak. Those apps may also have that stuff, but I haven't honestly checked... It also local so the times and locations are pretty spot on.
