Ok, painted my bike. I asked for gunmetal and black but the painter painted it silver and black. I complained and bitch at him but he wouldn't do it for me again for free. The paint job was really good, I am just not real sure about the color. So I am trying to make the best out of my situation. Can you guys help give me some input on what I can do to my bike to make it look better without breaking my bank? All inputs are appreciated

Looks great,, A lot of hours went into that. Some gun metals are lighter than others.

Did you want stun gun or regular gun?

Curious did you tap yor finger on a swatch or sample and say "that one"?

The colors/paint/finish look good, but the honda wings on the tank are backwards. that bothers me

Agreed. Looks nice :)

And if you didn't actually select the colors and it was just verbal, one color to him might not be the same to you.. :dunno

But if he was the one who applied the decal and got it backwards, I'd expect him to fix that.. meh.

Looks good but +1 on the honda wings. Just a recomendation on what I did a partial paint job on my bike I went in to a paint store and purchased half a pint of the color I wanted and took it to the painter he ended up using the paint I purchased but he could of matched the color and then there would be no excuse. I think the bike looks great though.

Looks nice, I also think the Honda wing is backwards. If you get new logos, try to get some custom carbon fiber deals made to add accents to your bike. You can get logos at tape works. com

I dont know much about paint. Whats the difference between stun gun and regular gun?

Yea, I did show him a sample of what I wanted. But I guess he didnt see? I also agree that it does look really good. But I Kind of think It would look better if the silver was a little darker? What do you think?

And Yea, I did the decals. Thanks for pointing it out! I thought it looked kind of funny. WIll change it right away! THanks!

Raiders stickers?

All you need to do is put some miles on it. Ride it, enjoy it, it's a beautiful bike!

the shock ...

gun metal normaly means a flat or semi/flat argent finish like on your swing arm there..clear coat will gloss and lighten it up.. and then some colors are named and hence called gun metal as in a factory option..

you have to tap your finger on the sample and say "that one" to get the right one. No tap and it's a roll of the dice ..

looks good until someone says it looks bad...

I think it looks great, as for myself I wouldn't veer away from the colors, adding any blues, reds, golds ect. would ruin the scheme but I agree with the other posts that some carbon fiber (tank pad, gas cap kit) would look nice, and maybe a rear seat cowl :thumbup

Agreed... If you didn't pick the color out explicitly, I wouldn't expect the painter to re-spray. Too much liability.

Looks great thats my favorite color combination. I think a red or white pin strip around the silver would top it off nicely.

Silver? I thoguht it was grey. :p Most guns look either black or dark graphite to me, but they call it blueing. When it comes to custom color I would use color code rather than common language description. In fact I'm surprised the painter didn't insist that you sign off on the color selection before the work was started to guard aganist this type of dispute.

It's just my taste & style, but fake carbon, racing team stickers, and numbers for the street look stupid. Then again, it's your bike and not mine. Leave the Honda Wings on backward if you so choose.

If you think about paint jobs on some of the more renowned bikes - Vincent, Ducati, MV Agusta, etc. They make otherwise simple paint jobs pop with the addition of a little contrast color. If it were me, I'd buy some pinstripe tape from the auto parts store & put different colors on each side, to see what each color did for the bike. Gold is a little cliche, so I'd try a red, a blue, a yellow, and maybe green. Or, be a real man and throw some pink on there. Start with just a few lines, separating the two paint colors you have. If you buy the narrower tape, you can experiment with different widths by simply adding another strip of tape to the existing line. Once you pick your color, put the tape on the other side.

Reinstall your mirrors, and ride that sucker till the paint comes off.

You ride that bike back to the painter and leave it there till it is painted correctly or you get your money back. While the bike is there contact the correct people. The police, BBB, contact 4 on your side etc etc. I would be fucking pissed if I had pointed to a color of what I wanted on a bike and the painter did the opposite of it.

Besides from that the wings on the Honda are backwards and ANYONE into motorcycles know which direction they are supposed to go. That alone should tell you about the painter.
